Funny seeing Dak out there is very similliar to how Sanchez was used his first two years. Throw on running downs don't take many chances downfield let the running game dominate

Though that cowboy oline is as good a oline as I've seen in a decade

Except Dak is good and Sanchez was a turnover machine

Sad thing is I can't even get excited about seeing Devin smith return, when he does.

As long as fitz is the qb Devin smith is wasted as well as robbie Anderson.

Fitz can only throw to big body possession receivers.

I don't care if it's geno, petty,or hack but somebody else needs to be qb.

Macc and Bowles need a long look in the mirror.

I tried to support Fitzpatrick.

I wanted him to prove yall wrong. He didn't.

I'm absolutely ready to see Geno at the QB.

The toothpaste is out the tube with Geno. He was only on the team if Fitz broke his leg early in the season. Now with the season basically in the tank and him not being under contract next year, there's no reason to play him. Even if he comes in and plays well, he's probably ready to go to another team for a fresh start.

Either Petty or Hack should start. There's no reason to play Fitz anymore.

Absolutely understandable. But that's the reason why he won't start.

For my own personal reasons, I kind of want Geno to start so he could prove a lot of people wrong and have them looking stupid.

Sanchez wasn't very early on. And it's too early to say if Daks good. He can't throw deep which is a problem

Like trip says, Dak and Sanchez arent comparable. The latter was bad from the outset and remained a subpar QB tthroughout his tenure here. Dak''s career percentage is already at 69%, more than 10% higher than what Sanchez ever averaged here. In fact all of Dak''s stats are of several magnitudes better than what Sanchez has ever achieved, not just in his rookie year but over his entire career.

Dak is more mobile, a better decision, has a stronger arm and is more accurate than Sanchez right now let alone as a rookie.

I get that. But look at it from the Jet perspective long term. If Geno comes in and plays superb(think 2013 Nick Foles: 64% completion, 27 TD 2 INT)... what do you do at the end of the season? Franchise him? Give him 10+M a year?

You lowell him ((10 mill is surely too low; maybe a couple million more) to test his agent'''s mettle and if he rejects it you franchise him and make him pprove it again next year a la Kirk Cousins.

No GM in their right mind would give Geno 20M for a handful of good starts(the franchise tag for QBs was $19.953M last year). You'd either have to work out a team friendly multi-year deal(why would Geno agree to that, the Jets have dikked him around since day 1) or let him walk.

If Geno plays well we have no choice but to franchise him. Given his age and upside, he would be our best option going forward on a year long prove it (read: easy to move on) contract. You don't let a 26 year old mobile QB walk if he finally produces. Cousins only played a handful of games too but the Redskins couldn't let him walk in good cconscience.

I agree. If he goes out there and lights it up, I think you do just that. Offer him a short 2 year deal. Something team friendly. He rejects it (as I would, too), and you franchise him. I'd rather pay 20 mil for a year and find out he's turned into that guy than let him walk and feel like shyt when he goes elsewhere and performs.
