I wish they had cut Geno. His immaturity hurt him, but he deserved a shot. He had a perfect qb rating in his last start & he played better than most backups last year. He will get another opportunity next year. I do hope that they play him this year. I don't know why the team holds Fitz in such high regards, given his decision making and weak arm.

This is why the Williams pick didnt make a whole lot of sense. I think Maccagnan overestimated Mo's trade value...also didn't account for Mauldin sucking. We have 3 guys who all play the same position combined with having slow as shyt OLB's.

The Williams pick didn't make sense because everyone kept yelling "BPA" when the Jets were not in position to do that. "Take the best player and make it work" y'all said. We'll now they're trying to figure it out and it's not working. This isn't like baseball or basketball where trades galore happen and things can sort themselves out. This and the idea that the Jets are gonna be the one stop shop for potential QB's is fukking this team up.
And as i said with Rex, if you're a defensive mind, you shouldn't NEED a war chest of first rounders everywhere on D to look good. Fast forward to April where we'll be blowing another first on defense.
There does seem to be a trend where the HC gets the first rounder then he lets the scouts take over after. Williams in a vacuum is great, but when you have Sheldon who's probably a more athletic version and he plays the same position its problematic. Not to mention this team drafted Coples 4 years ago too. Enough with the interior dlinemen.
Sheldon will be gone after his rookie deal. He's got baggage from the suspensions.
And they should not be using sheldon at LB.
It's pretty evident that by the fourth quarter our d line is gassed from being g on the field all game.
They should be using sheldon/mo/Leonard in rotation but the coaching staff is being greedy and wants them all on the field at the same time all game.
If they used a rotation they'd be fresh all game and more effective.
We looked our best week 1 without sheldon. And we also looked better our first 4 weeks last season when sheldon was suspended. It's a pattern. It's not a knock on sheldon but again it's this coaching staff.

Once you pick Williams, you have to choose one of Sheldon or Mo then move the other guy. They made their choice; why is Sheldon still on the team?
They tried to trade Mo and couldnt. Idzik boned all of his picks but there was at least a semblance of a plan in place. Maccagnan has just been throwing shyt at the wall.
The guy Jenkins who we signed from the Bears was beyond unnecessary considering it cancelled out the comp pick we would have received for Snacks.
