How bad does it get for you....and what do you do to deal with it?
It gets so bad sometimes for me that I leave emails and PMs unanswered cause I get nervous about what people are going to say. To the point they just like up.

I don't take medication ...used to but honestly I just think the negative side effects in these meds are not worth it. Feeling sluggish and slow. No energy. Make you eat more. Erode your memory. Make you gain weight. Etc...

I'd describe myself as having moderate social anxiety, but it used to be severe. Like there was a spell years ago where I basically stopped going outside during daylight hours, and I've had a few panic attacks.

And the older I get the more I hate crowded spaces; Going to a club doesn't sound enjoyable to me whatsoever

Three things help me deal:

#1. Realizing that I have a finite amount of mental energy for dealing w/other people in a day and being smart about how I ration it out

#2. Going for trail walks in the park

#3. Smoking weed

Edit: Also my dogs (well really my dads' dogs) are a big help, I'm like a God to them even tho I'm a terrible person :mjcry:

For me, if I experience a panic attack, it's usually comes with a disassocation period where I'm unsure if I'm in a dream or awake. I'm questioning reality completely. Plus I get a funny horrible feeling in my back muscles. It feels horrible. I usually get that way when my anxiety is bad but not panic attack bad. I'm experiencing it now.


I pretty much cope by avoiding caffeine in drinks and food as much as possible because that triggers me. I used to mess with fruit by the foot but whatever is inside it, fukks me up. Weed also triggers me.

Smoking weed has helped me with anxiety.
I don't really get social anxiety that much. I feel like I can strike up a conversation with just about anyone depending on this situation. But sometimes if I'm in the wrong situation I just feel like going inside my shell and not talking to anyone.

Like I asked a chick for her number and to meet up for some coffee and she actually agreed...

I guess my depression beat me up for so long that I couldn't even comprehend the notion of someone actually saying yes to me and giving me a chance.

Even though I'm relatively successful with women....still when depression and anxiety attack that shyt makes you feel ugly and unattractive.

It took me a while to get over it....

Shut the fukk up and stop ruining my thread.

I actually took a doctor's advice when they instructed me to stop taking my meds cause of the side effects.

I took Risperdone for anxiety and depression in 2010...
It made me gain almost 75 pounds and I went from 170 to almost 250 and from a 32 to waist to a 40.
You think that is beneficial or healthy?

I have the same issue when it comes to social anxiety in certain situations.

I have found that weed really helps me alleviate it. The only thing I don't like is the high. I don't mind when I am by myself but when you are around strangers it's not a good look. So I plan to play with CBD strains to see if I can control my anxiety without getting high. My boy should get me some in about 2 weeks. :smugbiden:
