Pretty much this:

tyrion is his own brother, just because his father and sister hate him doesn't mean jaime is a saint for loving his own brother.

It's more of the rest of them being despicable for constantly shytting on Tyrion than it is Jamie being admirable.

If the Mad King drops bombs over King's Landing, his ass is getting fried too. Jamie even said the King was ready to get fricasseed himself. Jaime wasn't about that barbecue life. I think it's flawed to think of any character in this show as being completely good or bad though.
