Gentrification is so foul. Man gets his rent increased from 1200 a month to 2750 a month.

Don't project other people's shyt on me, I'm my own man with my own experience. I don't get why you coming with hate. If you have a solution then offer it. Like I said, I think we need to grant people a right to property in this country, there's more than enough space for everyone if it weren't for the speculators and shytty landlords and everyone who buy up the properties to make a buck. I just don't know how to get from here to there.

Are you from the Bottoms? Did you go to Monroe or Morningside? I don't want people to romanticize shyt. This is all possible because those neighborhoods already had shytty landlords who were making a buck off of people with no money while not doing shyt to improve their lives or future situation. If people owned the homes they lived in this wouldn't be possible, plus they'd have the chance to improve their own property and their own lives.

Nah but I lived in a neighborhood in Detroit that was nice
Then all the white ppl moved out and hood shyt came in when I was like 14
I still ain’t for gentrification

And I still went to Black schools before nikkas try to call me a suburban nikka

but what is the answer then? the only reason these urban neighborhoods became black in the first place is because white people abandoned them for the new suburbs. the gangs caused the neighborhood to be "bad" and it was undesirable to outsiders and as soon as some could do better they said "i gotta get out of the hood". any hint of desirability and market forces say those with more money will offer more of it to live there. the "hood" (now former) in most cities are some of the most desirable swaths of land around. those who don't own are relying on a neighborhood staying undesirable in order to stay there and those who own want the neighborhood to become desirable and their property values to increase (yes that leads to higher property taxes, but you have more equity as well).

and yes you're right that all they did was move people around. the shooters are now in the suburbs.

Solution is more jobs and better education

The World, but from BK
California gets in their own way a lot. Look at San Francisco. The housing is expensive there because they refuse to change their zoning laws that would allow taller buildings to be constructed thus creating more housing. Would it crash the prices? No, but people would have options as opposed to being bent over the table.

What happens and is happening is they start building more on the outskirts of that main city in surrounding areas. So, neighboring cities/towns become more developed and prices start rising in those areas also. I was just talking to someone who was raised outside of San Fran. He said growing up he was surrounded by a lot of green and was some farmland in his area. He said now all of that shyt is gone and now it's just condos/apts and houses with prices being high as hell. The undesirable areas become desirable.

Should a homeowner be forced to take rent below market value? Many states have a max amount they are allowed to raise rent every year and if they want to remove the tenant there are rules that need to be followed like minimum notice time

That being said it's not ethical to just double someone's rent without giving them a chance to leave and find more appropriate housing or minimize the percentage one can raise the rent each year

I think there is a balance to be had. I've had a tenant for like 4 years and never raised the rent on them cuz I never had the heart to do it cuz he can barely pay the current rent on time but if he ever gets to the point where he gets behind a full month and inching into the second I will be forced to give them their 30 days because then it puts my budget in a tough spot.

That is exactly what rent control does.[/QUOTE]

So the Gov't can't raise the property taxes? You do know those have to be paid on an annual basis for homeowners, right? You really think all that remodeling isn't raising the property values of that area? Isn't that the point?
Y’all nikkas are foolish I’ve already addressed that shyt... but like I said when your a home owner they gotta come to you correct... when your a renter they just raise that shyt and tell you get the fukk out or you can stay if you have the money lmaoo

He ain’t lying...it’s the same thing that happened where I grew up in the south burbs of chi

Parents moved out to the burbs in 93’, block had a handful of cacs and mostly working class black folk. Late 90s/Early 2000s they tear down the projects and hand everyone and they mama a section 8 voucher to move to the burbs.

Fast forward 20 years it’s boarded up houses, shootings, 4 different families moving into the same couple houses every other month. Our house got burglarized after my folks been there damn near 30 years

That ain’t what my parents moved out the inner city for :camby:

The city is the new suburbs and the suburbs is the new hood :wow:

La is becoming a rich man's county. Need dual income and frugality to buy a house and hold each other down.

Or You can have a French Revolution and watch the artifically inflated prices drop. You got to put fire on the necks of these greedy people. Even CERTs ain't gonna save anyone soon.

Im in the game already. :dame:

Clown ass landlord priced us into a damn house raising the fukking rent every year. I dont know how they think these 1950 built apartments are going to demand these high ass prices when they dont do upgrades on the interior. Paying damn near 2 grand for an apartment without central air :camby: Big ol booty ac sticking out the side of the apartment. Nah,

If you cant afford it alone, get you a girl and save together. If you can stay together for 8 years and have a mildly aggressive stock porfolio you should have enough to get in the game, SOMEWHERE!

Just watch them stock dips. :whew: Part luck part planning part skill. Good luck :salute:

If you in l.a to fukk bytches and play you could get washed away by the time you age enough to realize shyt is REAL!

LOL

You sound like a white moderate
I’m not saying you are one, but it’s the same type of both sides

Old situation allowed people to live in their homes

Again, all they did was move ppl around

The same shyt will probably happen again once white ppl get tired of living in the city

Exactly. Cant raise kids in a crowded city cause too much traffic near a residence is a hazard for kids playing outside.

Just kill off the landlords that allow it, and the message will get out that price gouges = death and instability to the wealthy owners. Gotta allow violence against the corrupt.
