The Costa-Hawkins Act, which is basically the reason there is no rent control in most of CA, was passed in 1995 by Republican governor Pete Wilson tho. So did he want Black people to own property?

Breh, Demoncrats let international banks buy up the hood for kick backs you can’t track. You young cats better start studying your odds instead of studying me.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
A lot of people are scared to say this but how come nobody ever points out that some people in gentrifying areas need to have better jobs?

At this point that’s pretty much the main solution for those in the hood that have the resources to do so.

Why do people expect people living in the hood to afford homes? Y’all forgot that for the last 3-4 decades all the black folks who could own homes left to the suburbs?

:usure:

Those black folks must be held accountable also. Plus moving to the burbs wasn’t even a wise investment since the poverty in America is becoming a suburban problem while wealth moves to the city.

I know it'd be nice if they let the people who can afford $1200 to stay there forever but if there are people willing to pay $2750... the $1200 people don't stand a chance

Like if YOU owned the bldg and had a chance to more than double your income

You really expect me to believe that you'd leave the money on the table

Everyone saying "OWN" is 1000% correct

If all those people owned their cribs then they can't be gentrified... unless they choose to sell

Here's the hilarious part

If dude DID own that place and they offered him twice what he out into it... guess what

He'd take the money and skate the fukc up outta there
Harsh realities

people talk about buy if you live in any major city good luck with that. In my city the average house sells for like 1.2 mill, the average condo goes for above 450k plus maintenance fees every month.

Yeah so come up with a downpayment of 20 percent and then carry a mortgage of like 2,500 a month or rent
