Everyone has what works for them. I should have clarified in meat I meant fish, chicken, not red meat which I agree is no good for weight loss.

As far as cardio, empty stomach cardio only is very effective. When I cut down in spring time it works great. Step mill, medium intensity, watch the pounds melt.

Six balanced portion meals, and a couple of protein shakes and you're gonna be just fine.

Im 6'1 203 lbs, bout 13% bf

There is no template for every single person. But the basics I outlined are simple to follow and for the most part have been effective.

OP you need to take a walk outside, at least 30 minutes a day and then increase the time. Write down all the stuff you are eating and reduce it. Losing weight will take months.

Join a gym and go every day, like it is your job.

That works for lots of people, but usually you have to be in fairly decent shape tho. I'm one of those people that eat pretty much whatever I want but I work out for fun so I never really gain any weight anyway. I weigh between 215 and 220 on average.

kinda in the same boat myself but not really my fault. doctor prescribed me some medication to treat a condition I've been dealing with back around February. condition has improved but I've packed on about 20 lbs while on the medication, and its not like I was eating like a savage or not working out. weight gain literally happening at the worst time with the summer approaching, my gut and chest poking out of my tees, my work clothes for the office fitting dumb tight to the point I'm feeling uncomfortable at my desk. I've decided I'm going to dead the medication and work on getting my body back right and seek alternatives because I'm gaining back weight that I worked on losing a few years back.

seriously, eat vegetables and fruit. do cardiovascular exercise for fat burning. and lift weights or something heavy for anaerobic exercise, you'll turn fat into muscle that way

I still have muscle from when I was working out.
Whats the best way to burn this fat without losing muscle?
Heavy weight training and eating .8 to 1 pound of protein to lean body weight.

This all assumes you are in enough of a caloric deficit to burn fat in the first place.

I was/am in the same position. In 2012 I was in the best shape of my life.
Not working out literally made me feel :flabbynsick: all day. The idea of drinking a soda was like :whoa:
Had a good job, my own place and everything.
Then I lost my job, had to move back in with my fam and got hella depressed.
Went back to drugs and put on way too much weight.
I just need to get my shyt together.
I know that feel.

Around 2009-2011 I was just mad f*cked up in the game.

Dropped out of college in 2009 (more like took a couple of semesters off), had a panic attack in 2010...had to go to western psych where I was prescribed meds that made me blow up to almost 250 pounds (I'm 5'11")

Enrolled back in college, signed up for mad phys ed classes, lived in the gym for almost a year, and got in the best shape of my life in 2012. Graduated too.

Now, I'm a good 165...I'd like to be 20 pounds heavier though...I'll admit.

point is...it's possible. Don't get down...just get with the right frame of mind and surround yourself with positive people and it's possible.
