I disagree off the top.. I do have to go back and visit The Clipse albums

Virginia, Cot Damn, Grinding, Mr Me too.. were more beat driven dope than lyrics.. But, let me revisit
See, I disagree with even those. Not saying the Grindin and Virgina beats aren't legendary they are, and in those instances they're more classic for the beat then rhymes. But as a whole, the Clipse are elite lyricist. Pharrell is a okay producer to me.

It's pretty simple to me, if we eliminate all their catalogs, I could live without Pharrell/Neptunes the most. I don't even listen to most of their non-Clipse work like EVER.

The others I listen to their work constantly. (Not Kanye albums but work he did for others).

i was born in 95 and never listened to the radio. always had cds and mp3s. never heard an aliyah or justin timberlake song in my life tbh
:what: nikka I was born in 96 and I heard damn near all of those tracks growing up ... just let me know if you're a sheltered suburban white boy so I can stop devoting my time in this convo :comeon:

Pharell easily, his beats have aged horribly....Only Dre and Kanyes beats have aged very well for me out of this discussion in terms of hiphop.....Timbaland absolutely kills Pharell on the rnb side making this easy.

Timbaland also dominated radio in more genres than The Neptunes. That '06-'08 run was :whew:. In Urban music, Timbaland's '96-'01 run was crazy too.
I respect your opinion outside of more genres. List these genres.

Hella Good with No Doubt (Ska - Rock) now you match that record.

I'm mind boggled at the fact nikkas are really choosing Timbaland and the Neptunes , those two producers easily changed the landscape of urban music in the dawn of the new century are ya nikkas deranged :mindblown:

and I choose Kanye , he produces good tracks but ya put him on too much of a pedestal probably one of the most overrated artist in the last 10 years .

What are the classics you give Timbo and Ye?

:camby: out the thread until you do breh.

Timbo's work with Aaliyah and Ginuwine got him poppin..his work with Timberlake was also his last good work.
One in a million, Supa Dupa Fly, 100% might be a classic but that's just for the people that fukked with that type of music, So Addictive and cats might not agree on this one but FutureSex/LoveSounds was a classic that changed pop and R&B before The-Dream took it one step further.

For Kanye it's CD, LR, BE, MBDTF and extremely dope albums are Graduation, Yeezus, Finding Forever, he also was instrumental in Blueprint.
But mainly with Kanye is that he rarely drops anything below 4.5 mics, and that's not even stanning. Okay people might not like 808s and Yeezus due to their special style but other than those 2 and that shytty as Cruel Summer, nearly anything he does for himself and anyone else is dope as fukk. For being so "wild", creative and challenging he has a high standard compared to Timbo/Pharrell, like Rza and Premo in the 90s.

Dre & Timbo obviously have the longevity

Pharrell had the craziest run tho from 00-02 everything was Neptunes

Kanye is the 4th best producer on the list...but his work as an artist is why I couldn't get rid of him

This is a tough one but if we are strictly going by production, Kanye & his weak ass drums gotta go lol
