I remember the indian kids in college would have parents that had no problems supporting them and it was expected. One girl, her dad owned a gas station and her mom was a teacher but they stacked bread, they supported her thoughout school and they are paying for her now throughout med school.

My Nigerian roommate was the same way. His family avoided loans like the plague, they supported each other through school and now he's like 26 making 60 grand with 0 loans. He's getting ready to go to grad school.


This whole "you gotta go out on your own and strike out isn't conductive anymore". Those factory jobs are gone and no one is paying you 20 bucks an hour with full benefits for screwing in bolts.

Plus Indians don't fukk around with marriage.

Out here in the UK I knew an Asian (Pakistani) dude who had his home loan with his family. They bought him the house, he pays them back. He wasn't even 25 and a home owner. Speaking of inter racial dating I doubt ANY inter racial couple would receive that type of support from the respective in laws.

That's why it's important to be strong enough mentally to avoid caring what some broads think and instead have a tangible plan of success that is backed by your reason and analysis. I GUARANTEE you those same broads that were running their mouth before will be back on some, "Heyyyy remember me?" when you actually start reaping the fruits of your labor. Leave them broads in the dust and find one that understands where you are going with your moves.

That's a huge problem in our community. We care too much about what women think and how they will react to this or that move we're making. I think a lot of it stems from the lack of a father figure in the household. A lot of young black men's first source of authority is their MOTHER, so they grow up seeing a woman's opinion as the guiding source for 'success.' Instead of making savvy moves financially and building strong foundations for success, too many brothas are concerned with what the 'hoes' think. "I need me a fly whip, I need me some sharp clothes, I need my own spot, otherwise I can't get no hoes."

Young brothas really need to be taught about the value of money and how to invest it in appreciating ASSETS instead of liabilities or depreciating assets.

Meant to reply to this sooner, but I see it as being even more possible now with the state of the housing market. It is possible to get very comfortable living
quarters, depending on the state, and keep a family together without being on top of each other. Doesn't require a ton of cash to pull off either. I just had a talk
with my mother and im ready to put my boss on notice to look for someone to hire. The shyt I did in my freetime, graphic arts, gets an automatic bump
in pay for a job listing I just read. It isn't even a requirement, just a plus.

Yall are a more educated group on average, most forum posters regardless of website tend to be quite educated, when I browse slickdeals some of them dudes are pushing a million a year and up, they make bread and still frugal as hell.

Data is still skewed. And a lot of the ones educated here have parents in those fields so yea they probably tend to do well too. There really is no comparison between antubellum AA's and immigrant populations. We aren't the same type of immigrants. Even the immigrants that came with no material possessions, had centuries/millenium old cultures and heritage and connections to draw on. We are the only people that truly started in America with nothing to say nothing of the deficits created by slavery and Jim crow. I find these comparisons extremely disingenuous

Average income is lower. But, it's all relative though. Cost of living is lower. So, you might not be making as much as in the US, but your rent/mortgage, car bill, food, utility bills and water are going to be lower too.

Sorry to break it to you but our people are not going to turn around in country. Its been almost 400 years since slave ships arrived here. We have been socially engineered by Babylon into the mindset that we are in today. Everything is being reinforced on our people by mass media and the vast majority of our people are not aware or could care less to be aware even when warned. I do not think we understand the amount money and energy is invested to get the outcomes that you see in our people today. The more successful Black marriages we see, the more people will begin to emulate them. Yeah it will, take time. Great analogy about the teach a man to fish verses feeding him the fish. We been used to being content with programs and benefits and free phones that we forgot were our focus should go. Everyone wants to be famous, no self respect, kids not honoring their mother and father. The mother saying that im the child's mother and father. The fathers not having no back bone, afraid to put their pride in their backpocket to get out there and be men and provide and protect. We have to take cautious and use our heads when selecting out friends, and our mates, because influence is a mother fukker. It starts at home. We have to teach them (children) early shyt about credit, bills, debt, owning, quality education etc.
