They cheered Hogan over the Rock too so by that argument I guess Bryan more popular than Rock too huh:comeon:
You're smarter than that I hope. ONE ARENA cheering for Hogan over the Rock doesn't change that Rock outdrew Hogan by large that year and was definitely the symbol of pro wrestling in 2002 easily.

Hogan got booed at the HOF 2008 when Rock mentioned him. Forgot about that? Or when he got booed at WM XXX while Rock and Austin got standing ovations?

FOLEY? Are you serious? You think he's on the Macho Man's level all of sudden? And Flair was never bigger than Savage either..he was a big deal down south for a minute but that didn't translate over too well in the WWF even though he had some funny ass storylines. The scheme with Ms. Elizabeth and Heenan being such a mark for him.
Claim bryan was most over becauae a few sports teams used the yes chant

While ignoring that flair has been tapped to give motivational speeches to teams for years and that the "woo" has been a staple in culture

U may be riding the wave and haven't processed everything yet. Foley was bigger than Bryan, and has had better matches on WWE stage. What he did pre-WWE was legendary.

Bryan is Top 20 though for now. It was an explosive 3 year ride, during an unpopular time for wrestling. He never crossed over. They can't show most of his classic matches, so I doubt the average WWE fan really knows how good he is. Right now, I'm thinking CM Punk was a better Sports Entertainer, and has more crossover appeal.

Foley was part of the Rock and Austin era so of course he was supposedly "bigger". On his own? Very questionable and debatable because he was a nobody in WCW and he was losing his ears and $hit in Japan when no one gave two fukks about him. He rode the Attitude Era popularity that Austin and Rock led. Not him.

I see the point has already been made but let me reiterate: DB wasn't even part of a boom period, so he could never be 4th most popular in history. I PROMISE you there are more people that know who Randy Savage, Warrior, Piper, Flair, Taker, etc. are than know who Daniel Bryan is. shyt, there's more people who know who Cena is than DB and they're technically of the same era. DB was over as a MF when he got over, but it's not hardly the same. nikkas really tryin' to put DB with Hogan/Austin/Rock... really...

When has FOLEY ever gotten the reaction Bryan got in that Cage when the crowd was dead silent and then went ABSURD in seconds:laugh:

they dont wanna listen. They wanna bring up ppv rates and crap. Even though it was two different decades and eras period. Savage was like the big show. Face heel face heel. Sure more people outside of wrestling know who Macho man is. But im talking crowd reactions. When he won the belt at wrestle mania 4, he was on fire. But after that, NOTHING.

Taker wouldn't be anywhere close to that. He was never EVER as over as Bryan in 2013. Piper? LMAO. Macho and Warrior..ok. You can mention them because they filled up 70,000 plus arenas like Bryan did once upon a time.

Macho Man is much, much, much, much bigger than the Big Show. I'm not sure if you remember how over he was. The Megapowers storyline was HUGE and the WM 5 build was like Austin vs Corporate Rock the first time. Except there were MUCH more pro Rock signs at WM 15 than for Macho at WM 5.

Height for height? We ain't NEVER seen anyone as over except for 3 SOLID NAMES easily. When he was teaming with Kane, they had fans booing face teams every week. KOFI AND TRUTH being the prime example since that's who they won the titles from in tweener mode.
Dusty Rhodes even in a ridiculous polkadot onesie was more over than Bryan so its definitely more than 3 names

Jake the Snakes snake Damien was probably getting Bryan level pops back in the day

Man you hype this dude up way too much

I get it its sad he got hurt and hes retiring..i feel bad im sure he'll be fine but we got Aj Styles and Nakamura now who are both leaps and bounds better than Bryan in the ring

I don't have to claim $hit. All I have to do is show anyone with sense the end of his WM 29 match and how WM XXX ended in general. You ain't NEVER, EVER seen the crowd do that for Goldberg, Taker, Shawn, Bret, Foley, etc.

everything you said was right. But im not talking about who the casual wrestling fan knows. im talking crowd reaction- when that theme music hits, the place is gonna explode. Im not talking about who people know and dont know.
