He reminds me a lot of Eddie Curry.

Body type:

1.6'10/6'11.
2.Thick body.
3.Big hands.
4.Not a great jumper
5.Has no motor/stamina/endurance.

On defense:

1.Poor pick & roll defender.
2.Poor defender in space.
3.Poor shot blocker.
4.Does not get back on defense.

On offense:

1.Highly skilled.
2.Great footwork.
3.Great low post moves
4.Poor free throw shooter

Okafur Will have problems consistantly scoring on NBA centers that are 6'11/7'0 who have long wingspans, just like eddie curry.

We can criticize his defense in here all we want. But he'll be a GREAT scorer in the league. He's a lock to score 20 + ppg

Al Jefferson isn't a bad player but I wouldn't draft a player like him with the first overall.

You're never winning a championship with a guy like that.
Al has never been on a team good enough to win a champuonship its not his fault
Was he gonna win with utah, the hornets, bobcqts, or minnesota? Teams with no history?

The getting blocked by the rim was pretty disgustya to watch. The cousins comparisons are pretty on-point except he's not an a$$hole which could also be a negative for a player who plays the way he does.
:gladbron:

Congratulations. This is your first decent observation that I've seen you post.

Against teams with a big that will be a pro (gonzaga & Wisconsin) in the tourney he averaged 9.5 ppg, and had 6 pts in another tourney game. He's not a lock to score anything If he can't stay on the court due to foul trouble and poor defense. And even if he does average 20 ppg,who cares if he's giving up 25 pts per game.

Okafor is a poor rebounder & shot blocker for his size, not to mention he has twice as many turnovers than assist and is a poor FT shooter. What good is having a big man who can't rebound or protect the rim ? And I wish people would stop comparing him to T.Duncan.Duncan averaged nearly 10 reb,4 blk and shot 75% ft in his freshman year at wake forest. And let's also keep in mind that Tim did not start playing basketball until his freshman year of high school.

Okafor avg 8.6 reb,1.5 blk and shot 51% ft in 30 minutes per game. For all the hype he gets, those three stats should be better imo.

If Big Al and Brook Lopez can score 20 a game in the league I don't see why Okafor can't

Eh, I'd take the numbers with a grain of salt, look at Andre Drummond, he averaged 7.6rpg in 28mpg @ Uconn, he's an elite rebounder in the NBA yet if you went by his college numbers you'd never see that coming.

Okafor is the same size as DeMarcus Cousins, averaging 20ppg should be something he should be able to do by his 4th season at the latest.

But this is my point,DeMarcus Cousins,Big Al and Brook Lopez put up big offensive numbers but their teams suck in part because they don't play defense. The 20 points is great, but what about the rim protection ?

.

.Andre has a motor,Okafor does not.Drummond also avg nearly 3 blks per game,so he was a rim protector unlike okafor. This could be the reason for the low rebound totals..

Okafor scares me,he has the offensive talent,I think he will average 18-22 ppg,but damn...the defense and rim protection is non existent.Lets just look at the championship game,Okafor had 3 rebounds in 22 minutes and was getting killed by Frank Kaminsky. And notice after the game when coach kryxzyzxwaski was talking about players stepping up on defense, there was no mention of okafor.
coach kryxzyzxwaski :mjlol:
