You are still speaking from a mindset like the WWF was in bingo halls before Hogan. They still were selling out ballparks and areans pre Hogan. Its really equivalent to basketball. Guy like Hogan is Chamberlain and Austin is Jordan. Austin revolutionized the game. He was the reason they were able to go public, sell out stadiums, etc. Like I said before, WWF would have survived without Hogan. They wouldn't have been big, but there business was still solid. They would have folded without Austin

Are you just making this up as you go along....:what:

Austin's short peak was not anything close to Hogan in 1987-89

Wrestlemania 3 will go down in Wrestling History as the GOAT event in the Greatest Era of Wrestling.

WrestleMania III was the highest-attended indoor sports event in the world, with 93,173 fans in attendance.

WrestleMania III stills holds a record attendance of over 93,000 fans

You sound like a propagandist. Austin sold out stadiums too. That number is false also. Austin in 99 eclipsed Hogan. Deal in facts and not personal nostalgia

I like how @The G.O.D II is now arguing that Austin is better than Hogan because "Austin saved the company and business was so bad before him that if Austin never came along they would have folded"

But then he wants to turn around and say the GOAT is...the guy that was on top during that WOAT period when the WWE nearly went out of business and had to be saved by Stone Cold

:dahell:

Which is it?

Vince shaved Stunning Steve's head and told him to drink beer and give the middle finger so rednecks would cheer for him vs the Rock.

He had a nice 3 year run why the Major Stars of Wrestling were in WCW during the NWO Era.

Austin's 3 year run could never ever compare to Hogan's 30 year legacy that's blasphemy.

okay you've gone too far.

hogan is the one that set the bar. he's the jordan of wrestling. the icon that became bigger than the sport.

there is no bigger wrestling icon than hulk hogan.

Hogan is no Jordan. Hes Chamberlain. He put up amazing stats and was the defacto man of his era. No denying that. But Austin revolutionzed wrestling same way Jordan did the game in which you see it today. The buyrates, merch, house shows, ratings all reflect that. The network is built around attitude and austin. MNW. Attitude raws.

I see you don't understand trolling. And Michaels/Hart was the only one who drew during that shyt period. Look at Nash, Taker, Sid numbers and look at theirs

No offense but you really don't know what you are talking about. Austin outdid what Hogan did in those three years. Not to mention he was hurt during the height hence his short years. And you are acting like Hogan was dominant during all 30 years. 84-87 and 96-98 was his height. Still doesn't match Austin

may i ask how old you are and what era you grew up watching? because when you refer to hogan as chamberlain i almost get the sense that you view him in kind of a past tense... as if he were a star before your time. of course i can be wrong.

and on a sidenote, i would argue the "monday night wars" in general has been a bigger selling point for the network than just the attitude era, of which hogan was the prime catalyst.

less we not also forget that he's been the network's biggest pitchman AND hosted wrestlemania 30.

He was the top draw in wrestling at every point in his career and he held the belt longer than the Rock & Stone Cold combined.

the most watched wrestling match in history was in 1988. hogan v andre on SNME.

mania 5 he fought savage
mania 6 he fought warrior

2 iconic, legendary, landmark, HISTORIC matches in history.

actin like the wwf wasn't huge, HUGE business going into the 90's. :camby:

Asking me those question lets me know its personal feelings and not facts. Its doesn't matter if I was 16 or 36 (I'm 27 btw). It doesn't change the fact that Austin is the biggest draw in wrestling history

the ultimate warrior is the goat in my book :wow:

r.i.p. ultimate warrior

bro i shyt you not there are times when i truly believe he is the GOAT as well.

the only guy that can he say he bested hogan in his prime.

and when i say that i don't mean he bested hogan in the sense that vince put him over in a match... i'm talkin the guy literally outperformed hogan and took his spot even if it was only for the briefest of moments.

an amazing, AMAZING performer.
