I'm confused as to what this thread is about....is it top five kayfabe? Cause if so it's

Hogan
Flair
Cena (and I hate him)
Austin
Taker

Or is it top 5 for real

Hbk
Flair
Austin
Rock
BretBret

Had a talk with my friend and he thinks the Rock is top 5.

He would be lying his ass off if he didn't say that. Someone said Cena has been on top forever...well, a ton of people stopped watching when Rock was really done. Cena isn't top 20 at all. People here are just too young to remember the real greats..someone has to be a joke putting Cena ahead of Randy Savage. It don't get more absurd than that.

Based on a combination of longevity, starpower, charisma, work-rate, promos, no way Warrior surpasses:

Hogan
Rock
Austin
Flair
Cena
Andre
Savage
Taker
HBK
Hart

Then personally, I'd put:

Sting
Dusty
HHH
Foley
Bruno

all ahead of him.

How is he not, he's been on top longer than those two combined. Even Vince recognizes Cena as the greatest champion ever
The fans have rejected Cena for most of his time on top. I wont put Cena in my top five because Vince thinks I should. Vince has his agenda and wants him on top and thats fine. But Austin ushered in an era. So did Hogan. So did Flair. Cena has just been the chosen one. BIG DIFFERENCE.

If you go back and watch RAW is WAR, even the New Age Outlaws are ten times more over than Cena. The Worm is twice as over as Cena.

I respect Cena, and no doubt he has been the man for a long time but I dont think anyone can honestly put him in the top 10.

I mean Mt Rushmore is pretty clear:

Hogan
Flair
Austin
Rock

Anyone inserting others in there or tryna swap out any of those four is just being biased toward their favorites :yeshrug:

Now if you're making a top 5 theres about a half dozen guys that would be a perfectly valid choice for that 5 spot. But it definitely is the 5th spot, no higher.

Did warrior fukk your girl or something? Like you have got to be kidding me... I'm not even gonna explain why you on some bs..

*edit*
You know what I will tell you why warrior is at the very least top 10...

People that don't watch or never watched know and remember warrior, some 20 years later.. People put him up there with macho and hogan.. He was just entertaining, fukk being able to put on a technical match, he was just fun to watch.. His impact in such a short time is unmatched..

No shade but I don't see an argument for Ultimate Warrior being in the top five or ten even, and he's my all-time favorite wrestler... by far (well, actually Chris Benoit was my GOAT but that's something you gotta keep to yourself nowadays like Ray Rice support). I got Hogan, Savage, Undertaker, Ric Flair, and Bret Hart in my top five, followed by Sting, Shawn Michaels, Austin, The Rock, and Benoit.

I'm not sure if Stone Cold didn't get the rednecks hype drinking beer in the ring he would be an Icon like Macho Man or Warrior.

Stunning Steve was good but without his reinvention to Stone Cold he's not top 10.
But how can you hold that against him though???? shyt doesn't even make sense.... he DID become Stone Cold, and he DID get the rednecks (and everybody else) hype. That's like me saying Magic Johnson wouldn't've been shyt if he never grew past 6'1".

Well, sure, but you can't do that. By that logic, you could say things like

"The Rock was great, but if he stayed his Rocky Maivia character he never would've made it to the top."
"Obama was a good senator, but if he never ran for president he never would've gotten re-relected for a 2nd term as president"
"Michael Jordan wouldn't have win 6 rings if he wasn't so good."

Austin was reinvented as Stone Cold, and trying to construct an argument around a possible world where he would've just stayed the Ringmaster or something seems silly to me. You can't ever take away Stone Cold. That has to be a part of the debate, right?
