I hate to break it to some of you but Hogan is and was WAY bigger than Austin. Could you put Austin as the greatest of all time ahead of Hogan? Sure. But to say Austin was bigger? The fukk are y'all on. Hulk Hogan is virtually a pop culture icon. This nikkas name is synonymous with Michael Jordan, Nike, McDonalds, etc. He is one of the most famous humans of all time and it damn sure wasn't because of Thunder in pAradise or 3 ninjas. You ask your grandparents who hulk hogan is and they're going to know. You ask a 10 year old who he is, they're going to know.

It's not even debatable that Hulk Hogan is the God of Wrestling.

Austin is top 7 All Time because he got the rednecks hype by drinking beer in the ring.

Vince loves Austin & Rock for keeping his brand alive when the NWO ruled wrestling.

Austin is great no doubt and I like him more than Hogan but the nikkas main run was about 3 years long and that's being generous. Hogan is forever

It all boils down to Math. Numbers dont lie.

I didnt say Austin was bigger... Cena did. Vince did. Flair did. JR did.

I think they know more than me and you... Vince maybe knows who made HIM the most money.

You wanna say Hogan is more famous. OK i will agree... due to all his outside stuff etc.

My point is during his peak, he was not hotter than Austin. Nobody has been hotter than Austin ever. Austin had street nikkas running around doing The Stunner and shyt. WWF was everywhere during the Attitude Era and Austin was the face of it. The Attitude Era is by far bigger than the Rock and Wrestling Era. As far as ratings, cultural impact, and revenue.Just due to the fact that media itself was bigger in the 90's.

If Austin is the biggest wrestler, from the most storied time IN WRESTLING and MADE THE MOST MONEY FOR THE COMPANY EVER... How could Hogan be bigger? NOBODY is gonna say they dont know who Stone Cold is my nikka... only difference is Austin is a wrestling guy and he never shilled for shyt but the business.

:stopitslime:

It's not rocket science. WRESTLING has never been as relevant in the Mainstream as it was during that time. NEVER! Austin was the leader of that shyt, nikka drew more money, got more publicity, people were protesting the content, doing TV specials on wrestling. You literally could not go a day without hearing about WWF. Record High Ratings... fukk we still talking about it today... He was Bigger.

Hogan was a phenomena in his own right tho.

wow to think you wasted all that breath on false information.

33 million people tuned into watch hogan v andre on SNME.

a SATURDAY NIGHT.

no wrestling was not bigger during the attitude era and no austin was not bigger than hulk. hulk was one of the most iconic athletes of the 80's and early 90's.

and you talk about money.... shyt is ridiculous. look at the numbers BEFORE hulkamania and then DURING hulkamania. austin didn't take the business to greater heights and if he did it was by sitting on the shoulders of hulk hogan.

Austin is not close to Hogan on any level.

Wrestlemania 3 will go down in Wrestling History as the GOAT event in the Greatest Era of Wrestling.

WrestleMania III was the highest-attended indoor sports event in the world, with 93,173 fans in attendance.

He's the biggest draw Ever... how you get top fukking 7? For the biggest draw in the history of the business? :stopitslime:

Ya'll have fame confused with the subject of the discussion. We talking all time greats... More people know Jesse Ventura than Shawn Michaels we gonna say Jesse Ventura better than HBK now?

Hogan INTRODUCED the world to Wrestling in the mainstream. He's the Godfather of the game. :wow:

Austin spearheaded the wrestling boom and brought wrestling to it's PINNACLE. Both Great... but Austin drew more money so he is all time #1.

No way he's top 7 or left out of the discussion?:mindblown: That's like doing a top 10 ballplayers and not including Mike or doing a top ten actors with no Tom Hanks or some shyt. The nikkas put the most butts in seats are the kings. fukk ya'll...

if austin truly did draw more money then i imagine it is because the wwf had more revenue streams by 98 than they did in the 80's... not because he was a bigger star than hogan.

someone compare the numbers pre-hulk / post-hulk and then stack them up to pre-austin / post austin and let's see who really did more for the business.

who is bigger, the giant or the midget that sits on the shoulders of giants.

I stopped watching speciifcally because The Rock walked away. I started watching again specifically because The Rock came back. I am no where near the only person who did this. He is absolutely in the top 5. Him and Austin need to be in every top 5 and so does Hogan for his impact. The other 2 is then personal opinion.

HBK & Stone Cold yes, Bret hell no.

HBK has the longevity and the WM classics to put him there. Bret was a great worker but his shortened career and lack of a captivating personality keep him from top 5.

Top 5
1. Austin
2. Hogan
3. Flair
4. Rock
5. HBK

As pure wrestling stars who`ve had the best careers. This isn't a best wrestlers list, biggest stars

Hogan was an international phenomenon. He was one of the ten most famous people on earth during the 1980's. Austin sold more merch but he was never as big as Hogan. Not to mention Hogan was responsible for two booms a decade apart while Austin's peak run was less than three years.

oh yeah ur right... :comeon:

Vince was just angry all that NWO merchandise money was not going to him in the mid to late 90's.

Stone Cold had a good 3 year run, Hogan had a great 20 year run.

No comparison...
