One Time 4 Your Mind is what its pose to be just a showcase of skills its showing even when Nas is chilling he better than you

[LP] One time 4 your mind, one time
[Nas] Yeah whatever :manny:

And I'm from Queensbridge, been to many places as a kid when I would say that out of town, nikkaz chased us But now I know the time, got a older mind plus control a nine, fine, see now I represent mine :patrice:

Rappers I monkey flip em with the funky rhythm I be kickin
Musician, inflictin composition
of pain I'm like Scarface sniffin cocaine
Holdin a M-16, see with the pen I'm extreme, now
Bulletholes left in my peepholes
I'm suited up in street clothes
Hand me a nine and I'll defeat foes
Y'all know my steelo with or without the airplay
I keep some E&J, sittin bent up in the stairway
Or either on the corner bettin Grants with the celo champs
Laughin at baseheads, tryin to sell some broken amps
G-Packs get off quick, forever nikkaz talk shyt
Remeniscing about the last time the Task Force flipped
nikkaz be runnin through the block shootin
Time to start the revolution, catch a body head for Houston
Once they caught us off guard, the Mac-10 was in the grass and
I ran like a cheetah with thoughts of an assassin
Pick the Mac up, told brothers, "Back up," the Mac spit
Lead was hittin nikkaz one ran, I made him backflip
Heard a few chicks scream my arm shook, couldn't look
Gave another squeeze heard it click yo, my shyt is stuck
Try to cock it, it wouldn't shoot now I'm in danger
Finally pulled it back and saw three bullets caught up in the chamber

the best song is.....

Yea I was gonna post this. If I had to choose a favorite, it would probably be this song. This song probably has the best beat on the album imo. Plus the video is dope.

Although It Aint Hard To Tell has a great beat too, and just overall great song - with another great video lol. IDK I could choose either of these 2 as my fav

one time for your mind is my least favourite track...illmatic is an undisputed classic but it can never be a legit greatest album of all time contender, not with 10 tracks...

you can hear the influence from a production standpoint through the production of kanye and more recently j.cole...

the effect in the beat that starts @ the 2 second mark of the song.(and is used throughout the song) has been used or re created in cole and kanyes production

"it aint hard to tell" how nas influence is still bleeding through even the new school artist:banderas:

That isn't an "effect", its Large Pro sampling the guy from Mountain on Long Red going yeaaah

its been sampled like 300 times, so idt nas had anything to do with other producers chopping it up

One Love is criminally slept on and is the best song on the album, one Nas lyrically wrecked that shyt, two it has a deep subject matter is a letter to an incarcerated friend, three Q-Tip came correct on the hook and that beat is ridiculous the xylophone :ohlawd:

"Guess who got shot in the dome piece, Jerome's niece, on her way home from Jones Beach"
"Lil Rob is selling drugs on the dime, hanging out with young thugs that all carry nines"
