I don't know why I'm just now getting my notifications for this thread. Either way…..

see, its BS like this that gets me tight. Finley is a 4.5 cap hit against our team. For what? Quarless is just as productive and dependable and plays multiple positions. I fukkn hate how everyone ogles over Finley's size. He's wack. He doesn't complement our strengths. Why does it take an injury to keep him off this team? He should've never been resigned. Thats 4.5 million that could've gone to a defensive player.

eh

Finley actually made $8 million this past season. He's going to be disappointed when the market dictates he won't get a huge contract. Quarless shouldn't be expensive to keep. But are they going to count on Bostick and Taylor there? I think the TE position could use a pick in the upcoming draft.

And yeah that quote about young players in place is untrue for a couple of positions. At NT, if we lose Raji AND Pickett in one offseason, it'd be pretty devastating. I guess they believe in Boyd who they drafted last year and he's young so who knows there.

I don't know who at OLB he's talking about either. Mulumba? Perry? We barely have any bodies there and Neal has only one year there. The problem here is that all these guys were DEs in college (except for Clay who was a true hybrid). TT was a LB himself, can't he just find OLBs to fit in to the scheme? It's mind boggling to me. Plus, we have no young prospect at ILB. Brad Jones should never be a starter or gotten the contract he did. I'm fine with Hawk but we need a guy who can cover next to him and a rushing threat opposite Clay who can hold his own in coverage.

If EDS leaves, they have Tretter who they picked up after the draft and the staff was enamored with him. I guess we'll see there. Center is another position I'd like to see them get a true blue chip prospect. Peter King said the Packers may take a tackle... maybe with the uncertainty of Bulaga's knee and his impending FA next year.

Finley and Raji can go. Finley has been inconsistent really, and honestly I think its better to have a Blocking TE than a Receiving TE. Raji has been decent, but not even average. I mean the only thing I remember him mostly is for the INT for a TD. I want a dominating D-Line, because that has been our problem on the Defense.

fukk my life. :upsetfavre:

Or just resign Quarless. Why create unknown potential at a position that is not pivotal?

The way TT evaluates his roster, is the same way he approaches free agency. He's complacent as fukk. Instead of looking for a REAL MLB, who was a REAL long term solution, he tried to plug the gap with a cheap version.

I'm tired of this team trying to recreate the wheel. We know what works. We know what type of players we need on this team to make it to the super bowl and WIN. Why the fukk are we getting cute about this shyt now.

And like I've been asking TT and his followers since the super bowl run - when we lost cullen jenkins and put our future in the hands of mike neal. Name the 4 pass rushers you'd put in the game when you need the D to make a play…..its 3 years later and I'm still waiting.

Draft another tackle after you selected two tackles in the first round 1 brehs :russ:

Raji was better at NT. He's been playing DE since the Super Bowl run. I think he'd be more effective if you told him to shoot at linemen and ocassionaly rush the passer as he used to do. Maybe GB can negotiate that if they bring him back.

Raji in 2010 played like 85% of the snaps, his workload has decreased and so has his production.

They should lock in Shields. He's a beast. fukk free agents. Draft a safety and linebackers in the first 3 rounds and we'll be good to go.

At times I think Shields is better than Tramon, but not because of his skillset, but because of his speed. I know it sounds so weird, but its like Shields is so fast it's not even funny.

At all times, I think Shields is better than Tramon :yeshrug:

Shields took the jump this year. Tramon stepped up the 2nd half of the season. With Tramon expiring after 2014, it just makes to roll with this duo again.

We should do both. There are so many free agent safeties that are better than MD Jennings and OLBs that could be an upgrade over what we have without breaking the bank.

Obviously we'll keep guys and have eyes set on Cobb/Nelson and Bulaga (if healthy) extensions.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tramon get a new deal to lower his cap # since he is an expiring as well.

:mjpls: Would a James Jones trade be possible for a Safety? I mean I sorta consider him the Khloe of WR corps. Nelson is the burner, Cobb is the genetic freak, and Boykin shined in the spot he was given. Not to mention we always seem to find these WR at the Piggy Wiggly and they do better than the #1 for the Browns.

James Jones is a free agent. If you want to pay his 2013 salary for an upgrade at safety, then by all means do it. Or perhaps we spent what we spent on Finley for an upgrade at safety.

Though, I want to keep Jones just cause he is a big WR and he's made huge catches over the years. Maybe the market dictates he isn't worth much like in 2011 and he comes back at a discount again. He has great chemistry with the guys there and wants to stay... completely different from Jennings.

Yeah, but I sense in a way we want to keep 3 RB's now with Lacy becoming a possible All-Pro in a few years. We need to have a backup, and a 3rd just in case. Not much need for a extra WR.

James Starks is a free agent. We have Franklin and Harris still in the fold returning from injuries. But Starks was :whew: ... I'd like to see him back but we'll see who bites on him. Rumors are the Giants may try to sign him.
