Unbelievable. Hopefully he still has something left in the tank.

I got a text from a friend in Houston who was like "why didn't you wait till JJ Watt was a free agent" and I was like :dwillhuh:

Then I see we signed Peppers :wtf:

Only $7.5 million guaranteed and he's getting it all this year it seems. If Clay is healthy, both of them will get one on one in the pass rush.

Curious to see if they use Peppers in same or just as a situational rusher. He is still very athletic but had a down year last year.

LMAO, our only chance at ever getting Watt (while he's productive) was trading up in that draft to get him. He'll be a Texan for the majority of his career.

Peppers in the 3-4 should be interesting. I can see him standing up, but with what the talk has been out of MM and Capers, I'd imagine he'll play DE most of the time, which I'd assume he normally wouldn't do in a 3-4. Gonna be real interesting to see how they use him and Clay. You can play 'em on opposite sides, you can line Clay up outside of him on the same side, or Inside of him on the same side.

Man, if he can still play, it's gonna be a nightmare for opposing offenses. No offense to our friends in Chicago, but they never really had another pass rusher the caliber of Clay to put with Peppers. Hopefully it works out.

:mjpls: When you play with Chicago Bears and Jay Cutler, why would you give 110% to go 3 and out, when you know the boy is going to throw a pick on the next play. :sadbron:

Green Peppers will have a revival season, just because this team won't fukk around.

I love the way this offseason looks. TT understands this FINALLY. We CANNOT continue to field a team of question marks. We need dependables on our roster.

  • Andrew Quarless has always been the best TE on this team.
  • Resigning Sam Shields provides continuity among our secondary. This is important seeing as we are still looking for a starting safety. We shouldn't be looking for a starting safety and a starting cornerback at the same time.
  • Resigning Raji is great because it aids our defensive rotation. Pickett is our most dependable starter, but Mike Daniels is the future. So keeping Raji keeps the pressure off both of them and we can technically still develop another DT/NT.
Consistency is key. Casey Hayward is still here. Micah Hyde is still here. It's about time we STOP throwing people into starting positions, and keep our proven starters in place.

We now have the following players anchoring the line:
- Clay Matthews
- Julius Peppers
- Mike Neal
- Nick Perry
- D'Antone Jones
- Mike Daniels
- Ryan Pickett
- BJ Raji
- Jerel Worthy
- Mulumba

I think thats a solid front 4 for our nickel and a solid front 5 for our 3-4.

@tru_m.a.c Quarles wasn't our best TE.

Man of we still had tom Crabtree and Quarless :noah:

Was really hoping he would leave the division. That's a solid pick up. Him & Clay rushing from the same side is a scary thought. :lupe:

With EDS going to TB, we have a need at Center. There's plenty of options out there. Alex Mack, Jonathan Goodwin, and Brian de la Puente are still out there, as well as a number of other run of the mill center types. Mack and de la Puente would be nice fits.

I also think we should sign a safety and an ILB since Jones is not good at all. At this point in free agency going forward, there's bound to be some bargains.

We have $18 million left to spend... I bet we go into the season with about $7 million in cap room to extend Jordy and Cobb.

I'd also like to see Pickett brought back since he was 100% healthy to end the year and apparently the team is still talking to his agent. I'd imagine Jolly would be re-signed and he starts on PUP.

If James Jones remains unsigned for awhile, you all think the Pack gets him back? Finley too? This draft is loaded at WR and I strongly believe TT will draft one.
