Every society should be able to have its own moral laws but you got these outside people pushing their agendas, and very soon you gonna see members of the LGHDTV apply pressure and try to put them on the summer jam screen :francis:

I'm sorry to say, but shyt like this is exactly why African nations can't have a presence on the world stage.

Regardless of anyone's reservations about being gay, every other respectable place to live on the planet has moved on and gotten with the times on this one.
But of course black folks would always rather hold on to failed and archaic traditions then consider new, and progressive ideas that may challenge past views and upbringing.

No different than how we're the number one "beat your kids" traditionalists when it comes on to parenting where all other people have moved on from the 19th century and figured out better ways to raise kids, which we mock. We the only ones that want to emulate our grandparents and be archaic and ignorant out of some sense of moral superiority, and then act confused that we are producing the most troubled kids, prone to anger, always getting caught up in senseless and trivial crimes.

Regardless of your reservations, being gay or lesbian is a civil and human right that should be protected by governments. Period. Anything else is backwards thinking that will never be respected by the rest of the world. Who wants to live somewhere where basic human rights are NOT protected? We got to do better on the world stage and progress as a society.

It's sad to say that if most African leaders had their way and were given the opportunity to run an economically powerful nation, they would prefer a religious zealot ideologue dictator like most failed nations, rather than a free, prosperous, and respectable democracy. We can't aspire to be on the world stage if we refuse to let go of failed and archaic views of society and at least be a nation that protects basic human rights. Point blank.

Africa can't have a presence on the world stage. But we'll gladly take their resources.

Thread title is literally the same as saying "its not a human right for two consenting adults to have sex" but yall forget how to think critically when you think about two dudes getting it on :francis: but surely a government that feels comfortable dictacting peoples bodies will stop at anti-LGBTQ laws only, right?

It was a joke!
minding your own business has never saved anybody from religious persecution.

That's what I'm saying, whatever that bill says about "decency" is just grandstanding and will be exploited to intrude into people's lives

It's fukked up

Respectable nations, like Drag Queens reading to kids?

I have no issues with people living their lives and going about their business, gay or straight. But I'm sure some African countries are seeing the shyt that's going on in the United States, where literally HALF the members in congress are now scared to define what an actual women is - and these countries are probably saying to themselves "phuk this! We don't want to be like United States"

This is a wild statement coming from someone whom I assume lives in America.
Na it's not at all.
I have decent housing, decent water, decent education, the crime rate is livable and I have an economy to participate in. All that was established before any politician in my country gave a fukk about gays.

In 2015, around 24 percent of the population lacked access to "at least basic water" in Uganda. Access to at least basic water was 39 percent of the total population, or 73% of the urban population and 32% of the rural population. Regarding sanitation, only 19% of the total population had access to "at least basic sanitation", or 28% of the urban population and 17% of the rural population. Around 31 million people did not have access to "at least basic sanitation" in 2015.[15][16]The Human Rights Measurement Initiative has given Uganda a score of 22.9% with regards to basic sanitation, and 9.5% for water supply.

In earlier years, access to "improved water" had increased from 43 percent in 1990 to 72 percent in 2010, according to estimates by the Joint Monitoring Program for Water Supply and Sanitation (JMP) of the UN. In the same period, access to "improved sanitation" increased slightly from 27 to 34 percent.[12]

The Water and Environment Sector Performance Report of the Ugandan Ministry of Water and Irrigation, however, showed markedly different access figures. According to this report, in 2011, access to "safe water" was 66 percent while access to improved sanitation was 70 percent in rural areas and 81 percent in urban areas.[11] Eighty-seven percent of the population lived in rural areas in 2010.[12]

According to the European Union (EU), the number of people defecating in the open fell substantially between 2000 and 2008, even though the government provides no subsidies for the construction of latrines.[17]According to the JMP's estimates, however, the number of people defecating in the open declined only from 3.5 million in 2000 to 3.2 million in 2010.[11] The reasons for the different assessments are unclear.

Yeah, worry about Drag queens instead of having to shyt in the streets goofy .

There is no bill making being gay in China illegal dummy. Saudi Arabia is only relevant because of oil. A finite resource. They getting bushed as soon as it runs out.

Take your ass to those countries though. I’m sure they’ll welcome your ignorant ass.
