Op is right hip hop is more negatively influencing our black youth than positively. If u have a fragile mind then that's even worse.

I disagree.
Me too, if we're talking about feelings and emotions. I can't listen to alot of these trap/drill beats. The music alone puts me in a dark mood. I don't like how it makes me feel. But if we're talking about ACTIONS like going out and robbing a liquor store or something like that I think my point stands.

Matter fact, the LEAST affect of the music is what its causing people to go out and do on a physical level. That's actually the least of my worries. My main concern is MENTAL. Its moreso the stereotypes that's projected and the "box" that it puts black people in (specifically the young black male). I think its playing a huge role in our own self-hate and our lowered self-esteem about ourselves. I think its playing a huge role in blacks fearing other blacks and blacks distrusting other blacks. These stereotypes are helping to keep us divided as a people

do you ever worry about where your next meal is coming from or how people in your household will eat?

Bad circumstances + dark moods is a recipe for disaster. I can tell many people here haven't been around people from these communities who do dirt. One of the first things they do before doing dirt is set the mood with poisonous music.

Have you supported any "positive" Hip Hop lately?
Yep, favorite rap song (probably song period) this year

I always come out the pocket for artists who I feel make music "from the soul" and who represents the average black man. This is why I think people are supporting Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole. We WANT to hear positive messages. We WANT to be uplifted and inspired. We're tired of these caricatures of the black image. Your favorite drill/trap rapper does NOT represent most black people.

So is OP going to ignore the post listing all of his posts praising the very music he is vilifying???? @PhonZhi
ive listened to rap for over 20 years now, I love it. I'm obsessed with the skill and intelligence it takes to express ones self with words in a structured and patterned way. This is why I can separate SKILL and the overall messages and stereotypes that's being flooded into the minds about blacks worldwide. This is why I can acknowledge the skill of Jadakiss, Rick Ross, T.I, or Pusha T as dope ass lyricists and we all know what they rap about mainly. Lliterally 99% of Pusha-T's lyrics are about pushing dope yet I think he's one of the most talented lyricists out today. You either agree or don't that this mental poison has an affect or not:yeshrug: . its that simple. If hearing "kill a nikka", "shoot a nikka" doesn't make you cringe a little that's fine but as you can see from this thread, LOTS of people agree with me. Who cares what PhonZhi the random poster thinks and listens to. You have your own mind right?

Oh, and if you're white I definantly don't expect you to agree with any of my posts about this subject

So you admit you are a part of the problem and have no idea about a solution? Got it.

1st solution is awareness about the past and techniques used to "demonize" the image of the people you are planning on exterminating:

If you can't see that this music is AT least "gas on top of the fire" then you have lots more learning to do. If your own racial pride (IF you are black) isn't at a point where constantly hearing "kill a nikka", "shoot a nikka" makes you cringe a bit then there's no need to even go back and forth with a person like you. You WILL NOT understand no matter how hard I try to explain. MY stance on this subject came about only AFTER I gained a sense of PRIDE and LOVE for being black. After I gained knowledge of self and knowledge of past history like Minstrel Shows and Hitler's use of "media propaganda" on the Jews

As evidenced in this thread and many others, black people are waking up. All of the recent events in this country are awakening a sense of PRIDE in us. It is what it is. Some of you are angry that this is happening, but its not gonna stop:yeshrug:

The evidence in this thread also shows how much of a hypocrite you are. :mjlol:
