hiphop is the most popular genre in the nation, probaly in the whole world, you think a crowd of 50 million is mostly pop? and wouldnt be hype for Jay-Z:laff:?
No they wouldn't. I'm sorry.

You got to figure the majority of people at the Super Bowl know Jay-Z as Beyonce's husband and the guy who made "New York" with Alicia Keys.

They don't know or respect Jay-Z as the rapper.

Flo Rida and Pitbull would be a better choice and no I'm not joking.

Like Prince, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Usher, Diddy, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, etc. yeah you fukked up. You can't even spin your way outta this.

:dahell:

Have you seen Future perform? He sucks as a live performer. That's arguably his biggest shortcoming as an act. Future makes 2017 Mariah Carey look like James Brown.

You played yourself. Again, the fukkING SUPERBOWL, not Summer Jam. Pepsi would make NBC show an episode of This Is Us so fast if their show ever started with "Percocets, Molly Percocets!"

theres nothing to spin, you said they "ALWAYS try to land acts you have to live under a rock to not know" so they can impress everbody,im telling you thats a lie because they have plenty of people who perform who black people dont know for shyt, but only have black acts that white people know,so they not trying that hard to impress everybody.....and oh yeah Bruno Mars has mostly been a act who was popular with white people.

Future i know was horrible, but from what I've been seeing from him,he has gotten better. and I thought they were trying to please everybody?hiphop is what folks are listening to,its the most popular genre....but now you say they are trying to make uptight soccer moms happy, and put on performances for the kids:jbhmm:?which one is it?

Breh, you're making a very awful generalization that black people don't know painfully obvious musical acts that the whole world knows. They don't have to LIKE them which is what I hope you're trying to say, but if you don't know who the Rolling Stones are, you have a very narrow knowledge of general music. They invite acts who have those songs that at worst you kinda sorta know but you just didn't put song to face. There's probably some white guy in Assfukk, Montana who hates Jay-Z and doesn't really care for rap, but he's probably heard Empire State of Mind 50,000 times at his Target so he has an idea of who he is.

It's both (it's a family show) and you're right. Hip-hop is the most popular genre, but Jigga aside, who has that kind of profile big enough to do that show? Just talking hip-hop, you can count them on one hand, music in general, maybe two hands. In the past, there was so much to choose from.

Lol @ dikkriding everything else. It's called exposure and being that I've been to many of those artist's concerts as well as 6-7 jay z concerts spanning from 1999-2014, I know exactly what I'm talking about, so no, I'm not confused. Jay z is not a performer, he's a rapper with a good stage presence, but it doesn't go past that.

And performance is not about good music it's about the fukking performance, music is about good music...wtf. :camby:

sure it is,somebody who has good music people love will have a better performance than somebody who has shytty music nobody knows....its a reason Jay-z can perform a concert full of b-sides and have the crowd hype, performing his hits would be no different.....also Jay has clarity, charisma that you cant teach on a live stage:ohlawd:...when he's on stage it doesnt matter what else is going on,your watching Jay-z,he's a icon:mjcry:

You're naive if you think Jay Z's music would get a Super Bowl pop neutral crowd hype like a Lady Gaga or Chris Brown type. Popularity doesn't equate to specific demographic.

well the halftime show obviously isnt just for the crowd at the superbowl:comeon:,and like you said its a pop neutral crowd, that will get hype for damn near anything popular you throw at them that comes with a light show:mjlol:...just look at the examples yall been throwing out as "great performers" all thread long:scust:

footballs main demographic I'm sure isnt homosexual men,but they didnt mind having Lady Gaga and Katy Perry perform did they?just say they dont care about what nikkas wanna see at the Superbowl and we couldve ended this discussion a long time ago. probaly dont care what men want to see in general,We dont need yall shytting on hiphop like hiphop artist couldnt put on shows as good as any of these other wack acts yall threw out in this thread and they would still get watched, and the crowd would still be hyped.

Football's main demographic is NOT the same as the demo for the halftime show. The Halftime Show attracts people that otherwise don't really care about football. Hell, the event itself is so major that it's beyond just appealing to the hardcore football fan. They're not worried about you. All those fans want is the game and they'll get that. The hoopla surrounding that event is bigger than football.

okay let LL Cool J perform then if old ass rock acts can perform, roll Ludacris out,put Snoop and Dre out there, and I already named Migos,Future.

what about Katy Perry? Ariana Grande:mjlol:?Cold Play?theres no rap equivelant to them? no just no,go take a look at some of these superbowl performers and I can definitley say there are plenty of acts that perform all the time that black people should NOT be ashamed of not knowing. Hiphop should have a much larger pressence and representation at the superbowl point blank period.

I didnt even see MC Hammer ever performing:picard:?

See how you had to list a bunch of acts as opposed to just one to headline the whole thing? They'd rather just have one big act.

There is. He just turned it down. His wife did the show TWICE. Rap is a unique genre in that so many people do it, so we like so many different artists, but there isn't that one dominant figure that's a huge megastar that transcends the genre (which goes back to my first post: there aren't many if any of those types of stars left in music)

Ariana Grande has never performed at a Superbowl.

I didnt even see MC Hammer ever performing:picard:?

The halftime show wasn't nearly the event it is back in the late 80s /early 90s. The allure of the halftime show didn't ramp up until other channels and shows did their own halftime show (like In Living Color)

Hiphop should have a much larger pressence and representation at the superbowl point blank period.

It's not like you've never seen hip hop at the Superbowl, but they want the transcendent major stars, not a condensed version of Rock The Bells

Sounds like you are easily ammused by a bunch of pyro and foam mountains that artist like Kanye provide:mjlol:

What about the clarity, what about having classic after classic to get the crowd hype, what about stage pressence, ability to tell a story, one of that matters:martin:?

That's not really what the Super Bowl half time show is about tho
