Vernon Davis said he is moving around better than he was after Sunday’s game but that his back spasms have not gone away entirely. He missed Wednesday’s practice and declared himself “day to day.”

Meanwhile, right tackle Anthony Davis also missed the practice session, but the knee injury he suffered Sunday does not appear to be long-term. Davis was observed walking quickly through the locker room and into the training room. He did not have a limp and his knee was not wrapped.

Meanwhile, rookie center Marcus Martin went through his first practice after injurying his knee in the preseason.

SANTA CLARA – Cornerback Tramaine Brock is expected to miss a fourth consecutive start with a sprained big toe on his right foot.

Brock did not take part in practice on Wednesday, but he began rehabilitation work on a side field with the 49ers’ strength and conditioning staff. Perrish Cox is expected to make his fourth start in place of Brock.

When Brock comes back, I'm thinking they'll either move Cully to the slot or have Brock play the slot. I can't see them taking Cox off the field the way he's been playing.

We got a High Low concept going on here. We are going to chip and max protect to give Kap time. We have a low drag to get a rub off the corners. Two Digs behind each other in case of a zone, One will open up the other and a Alert 9 route by brandon lloyd if we have a good one on one match up that we like or if the safety blatantly cheats to the other side and in these days in the league we could get a easy interference call because of the new "emphasis"

theres no high/low concept when two receivers run identical route two feet away from each other, VD and Boldin nearly run into each other

thats what Im talking about, genius. I want to know if those two routes were called that way (retardedly) or if it was a receiver fukk up (more likely)

i played more basketball than football growing up so I think of coverage in terms of how you defend in basketball. If I had to guess, I would say Davis ran the wrong route as he ran Boldin's route from the bunch and one guy could cover both routes in a zone similar to what you see in basketball when they overload the strongside.

if 85 had run a go then he would have some downfield pick action similar to what the rams do a lot and have the high and low crossing routes like Scott Linehan runs all the time.

the drag route form 13 should also create a pick action with Boldin's outside release.
