Bad is not the term, it was historically atrocious.

You're talking 2 years later not a single player is on the roster and almost half are out of the league entirely.
Yea but 2011, 2013,2014 are looking good

Walsh said if your hitting on 45 percent of your picks your succeeding

Don't forget all of the cheap fa's he signed which have turned out great

The things that disturbing is most the questioning is coming at Harbaugh, and it seems like Baalke has some immunity to the public and within the organization, mostly because Baalke aint asking for Harbaugh $.

But at the end of the day, he's had his fair share of complete flops, which is something I can't really say about Jim.

Our season has ended 3 years in a row in nail biting 50/50 type of situations in the biggest games. I still see those as failures, but I got more love for Jim than I do Trent.

PFF Grades/Stats for Niners vs Eagles

http://www.ninersnation.com/2014/9/29/6869025/pff-grades-stats-for-49ers-eagles

Offensive Line
The 49ers offensive line dominated in certain aspects of the run game, but struggled mightily in pass protection. PFF graded out the pass blocking with Joe Staley (-2.9), Daniel Kilgore (-2.5), and Alex Boone (-1.3) all grading out negatively in pass blocking. Mike Iupati got a 0.7, Anthony Davis was a 1.0, and Jonathan Martin was a 0.6. In run blocking, Mike Iupati was tops with a 3.5. Alex Boone got another negative performance here, however, finishing with a -2.0 grade. Daniel Kilgore managed a -1.7, in what was his worst start through four games at center.
Kap
Colin Kaepernick struggled with consistency for the most part, but he found some success going down the field. He was 6-of-9 for 150 yards and a touchdown on throws of 10+ yards. Kap was pressured on 17 of his 37 dropbacks. PFF figures out a time to throw statistic, which is time for snap in which the QB either attempts a pass, gets sacked, or scrambles across the line of scrimmage. On Sunday, Kap's time to throw was 3.71 seconds. That number was 0.60 seconds higher than any other quarterback.

Secondary play
The 49ers secondary put together quite a performance.Antoine Bethea got the game ball in PFF's game recap. He finished with a 4.8 grade, covering an interception, a forced fumble, a QB pressure, and a team-high four stops. He made the huge stop of Lesean McCoy at the 1-yard line late in the fourth quarter. Bethea is PFF's highest graded safety.
Perrish Cox and Chris Culliver both graded out at 2.2 in coverage, while Bethea was a 2.7. Cox was targeted 12 times (10 times while covering Macline), and allowed 4 catches for 51 yards. Culliver was targeted seven times and gave up 4 catches for 34 yards.
Pressure
PFF put together this interesting rundown. It looks at the percentage of dropbacks in which the 49ers have pressured the opposing quarterback:

  • Week 1 vs. DAL: 22.5%
  • Week 2 vs. CHI: 24.3%
  • Week 3 vs. AZ: 20.0%
  • Week 4 vs. PHI: 31.1%
Aaron Lynch secured a +3.1 overall grade thanks to four QB pressures (two hits, two hurries). He spent the entire game in the 49ers nickel and dime packages. He rushed the quarterback on 24 of his 25 snaps. The only play in which that was not the case was on the final drive when he tackledDarren Sproles on the swing pass.

On the other hand, Ahmad Brooks struggled against left tackle Jason Peters. Brooks made a big stop against the run at one point, but otherwise had a -2.4 overall grade and no pressures in 30 pass rushes.

Nick Foles was blitzed on only 4 of his 47 dropbacks (Wilhoite 2, Willis 1, Bethea 1). He finished the game 1-13, 22 yards, 2 INT (passer rating of 0.0) on passes of 20+ yards downfield.

I remember earlier in the thread somebody saying that Lynch and Aldon should be on the field at the same time when Aldon gets back. If Lynch keeps playing like this, it should definitely happen...especially if Brooks continues to not be able to generate pressure on opposing QB's.[/quote]

To me, that Philly number is so falsely inflated.

They were missing 4/5 of their lineman.

But Lynch is better than LEMONier and Brooks don't seem to be bringing that heat like he used to.

Didn't Lemonier top PFF's list of rookie pass rushers last year? Lynch definitely looks better than Lemonier right now, but he's basically doing what Lemonier did last year.

Does anybody know exactly why/how Lemonier has fallen off this year?

Allegedly he put on weight/bulked up to help him with the bull rush, but it looks like it cost him speed...

baalke assembled the talent on offense right now. its harroman job to have the offense perform, hes the supposed qb guru
what should be the criticism here ? there is nothing baalke has done to detriment the offense. in fact the talent on offense steadily improved from 2011 as far as talent goes. we got steals in quan and stevie trades.

baalke deserves some criticism for some defensive non-signings and refusal to draft up, but at the end of the day defense is not playing downright terrible. while ward is a bum from all early indications, defense still manages to be a top 5 D yard-wise. offense managed only one year being above average- 2012

and when evaluating drafts, we don't know who calls the shots- I dont think its 100% baalke

the offense though is 100% ran by harbs and roman. baalke doesnt call the plays and doesnt make decisions

we have one of the best offenses on paper. we had 5 1st round picks starting on sunday (a. davis, vernon, crabs, staley, iupati).4 WRs who had at least 1 1000+ yard seasons. a young promising qb. borderline HoF RB. one of the best fullbacks in the league. one of the best runblocking lines in the league. one of the best left tackles in the league. one of the best all-around TEs in the league.

most teams in the league would love to have our offense. weapons and talent-wise its easily a top 5 offense. Im not sure what the fukk baalke should be blamed for ? aj jenkins ? sure, but its a moot point since stevie and lloyd shyt on most receivers taken that year besides alshon. if we had shyt at WRs we could blame baalke. but we don't.

the mistakes we make on offense are on coaches, not due to lack of talent.

Because no one, including Niners fans are giving the defense the credit it deserves, and are questioning the off-season moves:
Pro Football Focus is ranking Bethea as the top safety in the league (Whiter is 57th :shaq:)

- Saved the go-ahead TD in the 4th
- Stripped the ball from KKKooper
- Made a key INT that deflated the Eagles

Dude is a gamer.

I been harping on Baalke for a while. While he has made some good picks, I feel like he got too damn cute at times with some of the picks. Keep it simple and pick the BPA but instead he was picking projects and sh1t. I'd take Jim over Baalke myself but would just rather tweak both of them and have a great HC/GM tandem.

well one thing is I believe they already called justin smith twice for defensive holding, and that sneaky hold on the guy opposing the OLB was part of the reason why the OLBs (aldon, lemon) got much better pathing than they could without it :manny:

just a part of it I guess :manny:
