:why: Nobody saying that at all. I'm comparing him to the other successful QB's who can read a defense, pass from the pocket, but they would just run because they were athletic. I really don't think Seattle's offense is that simple either. They have a very good running game. They draw up plays where Russ and move around and make plays. That is what you are supposed to do. Cater to your QB's strengths. 49ers don't do that with Kaep. Not sure if they can either. Future is bleak for Kaep if doesn't learn how to read a defense or get an offense that he can be successful. Looks like another RG3 right about now.

My name ain't "you're correct" :lolbron:

But this is exactly my point, Seattle's offense is catering to Russ's strengths, whereas ours doesn't. If we had a system like Seattle's, Kap would be much more effective than he is now.

he isnt asked to do difficult reads now either. roman has repeatedly said they simplified the system and tons of plays out there are designed to go to one receiver with the rest setting up picks/drawing away coverage

the problem is kaep for some reason started to try and do too much instead of taking what defense gives him. that first pick against raiders is a prime example. he couldve checked it down to bruce for 2-5 yard gain and instead he ran around stared down crabtree in good coverage, threw off the backfoot and safety who read him all the way got the pick.

there was absolutely no reason to do that. all of a sudden he got the idea that he can make every throw out there given time. but...he can't. no qb ever can.

with that said, at least against seattle there were WAY too many deep routes, which really made no sense.

I don't trust a damn thing coming out of that fat motherfukker's mouth :birdman:

But seriously, Kap has made some real dumbass decisions, I'll be the first one to admit that. I'm just saying he ain't broken beyond repair, and if we get him in a system that caters to his strengths, he'll be a real problem in this league

Yeah, I think the whole goal was not to have a QB who needs a system to succeed.

well that failed, so here we are

I want to win. Period. So if that means molding a system around QB, i have no qualms. I don't care if Kap isn't Peyton or Rogers. We send Rogers home 2 years in a row on the legs and arms of this guy in a "system" designed to utilize his weapons.

tell me 'difficult reads' on this play. this is first play of the game [stills stolen from webzone]

we have basically all receivers covered, miller open on checkdown for a short gain. an immobile qb in this situation hits the checkdown or throws the ball away.

kaep decides to make something out of a broken play by rolling and telling crabs to go deep. the problem is safety knows that too well

bad throw off the backfoot and we indeed get something out of nothing. a turnover.

This was a dumbass decision. Period.

As I said before, Kap is broken. But he's not beyond rehabilitation. I've seen enough out of him to not give up on him.

Damn, I feel like I'm coming off like a Kap stan in here :patrice:

Where's @JLova I need help breh :pachaha:

Ya kinda are, and it's understandable.

Fans do this, we usually look to blame the guy who is most easy to replace and who we're attached to the least.

That's why an OC is always looked at as the end all be all evil. While I too want Roman gone, I know that the game comes down to the players more than anything else

nah I agree with that. Im just saying that I dont quite agree with the 'they asked kaep to do more' thing. if anything I see coaches trying to help kaep in general (of course they are not very good so its not very helpful).

I dont think that kaep is struggling because hes asked to dissect defenses like peyton, basically.

I agree, and i'm trying to be as level headed about this as possible. Kap has made a ton of mistakes, and he has to be held accountable for them. Roman isn't the one not throwing the ball away or not hitting the checkdown, so that's on Kap. All I want is a system that recognizes his shortcomings and mitigates them to give us the best chance for success. And the first step to doing that is getting rid of Roman. If Kap was truly terrible under a new system, I'd be the first one saying hit the road. And there's no guarantee he won't be. I just wanna see first.

yeah exactly, and when Kap struggled to do more, we didn't adjust and make it easier for him and the entire offense, we just said fukk it and kept doing the same thing

the problem is we cant go back to last year or the year before, this is romans first year calling passing plays

The delay of game thing is so fukking idiotic. I can't remember a single snap of the Harbaugh era where we got it off before the playclock turned red. :scust:

the whole system is fuked

most teams have their oc or hc call the plays directly to the qb or backup qb and relay it

this team

roman picks 2 plays
if harbaugh doesnt like those 2 plays
roman gotta pick 2 more plays

then kaep has to line up and decide which play to run with less then 10 seconds most of the time

just fuking stupid!!!

I think this year with the run game never materializing, it's one of the big reasons Kaep has struggled so much.

He needed that crutch, and we didn't notice how badly. You take it away, and this is what you have.

I think we expected Hyde to be better, he never got there this year. Gore is Gore, great player but they know he's at the end of his line and they didn't want to put it on his shoulders like that.

This whole year is just an abortion of a season
