I would agree but he been saying some c00n shyt lately.

He basically was the Richard Sherman of his day.

Say some real shyt about race on one hand. Then say some c00n shyt on the other hand.

I feel sad for Kareem. Seems like he saw a lot of rotten shyt when he was young and experienced some of it too, and is just not an outgoing guy. He's not wrong, but he seems to have a hard time relating to people and to be very uncomfortable in his own skin as a guy who stands out so much in a crowd at his size. That living alone part at 68 made me sad to hear.

Basically the same thing.

Oh.. You must be one of them..... :umad:
I defend celebrities and athletes that don't like people getting all up in their business. I think the people like Kareem, Randy Johnson, JD Salinger etc have every right to dislike and distance themselves from the byproducts of fame. The problem is here is that some of them just can't seem to own it. If you hate attention and want to be a hermit, that's cool, good for you. Live a secluded life and let people forget about you. The problem is when you create that lifestyle and then you start complaining that no one likes you and want sympathy :mindblown:

good read....and his comment on Magic, while probably not needing to be said, wasn't a shot at Magic as a person.

He clearly dislikes white people tho it seems. lol
But to be someone who grew up in his time and had his negative experiences, that's his prerogative.

Some peoples brains just aren't wired to simply accept the unfair way this world is.

Truth. And people view that trait as being bitter, even if there's merit his bitterness. If Kareem was on The Coli, he'd be pejoratively referred to as a Coli Militant.

I didn't read the article, but no man waits 40 plus years to complain... I'll check it out and try to see what you're referring too

Maybe. He seems much more realistic and self aware than those posters. That's the sad part though. As unhappy and uncomfortable and bitter as he might come off, it sounds very much like he's justified and has good reason to be. At least Russell seems to be able to enjoy life and not hold onto stuff as much. shyt had to be really tough.

Man I wish Wilt was still alive. He went in on Kareem in his autobiography something serious :whoo:

Saying The Captain was a one dimensional player and only about offense and if he had the same mentality , there wouldn't been no way he would have the scoring record . Also he got an offer by both Buss and Donald Sterling to return playing ball in LA during the early 80s but turned it down because he didn't want to easily steal Kareem's shine....

But he sounds just as salty too :yeshrug:

You're right. He's more outgoing than people care to admit. Part of the reason he's "intimidating" to some people, is because he's just doesn't like small talk with strangers I guess. People don't want to acknowledge and examine their own sensitivity and entitlement towards demanding Kareem being a constantly smiling, non-debating, go along type of guy. And Kareem isn't having it. Like I said earlier, he's sociable and outgoing on his terms, and that bothers alot of entitled people. He'll hang with Hugh at the Playboy Mansion, he'll be in Leslie Nielsen movies, etc. But that doesn't mean he can't be angry about racial atrocities in America and call out White society for not making amends for them. There's a balance. And people don't understand this. There's plenty of sociable white celebrities who'll turn pseudo-militant on certain issues, and who should be considered angry, crazy, unsociable at times.

The subject matter is a readers paradise if you into sports and have learned that reading is FUN-DAMENTAL :francis:

Its ok, intellectuals get it. Not everyone is built for reading...
