Good read. There are a couple more scholarly books on the subject, but this one is more unbiased.

debating on if Jesus really existed is a waste of time imo. Dude's been dead for over 2000 years and there ain't no coming back from a physical death. IMO, this is what matters.

1. As HHL pointed out, Jesus was black
2. Jesus stood for freedom, justice and equality

Now apply it to 2013.

If you black and stand for freedom, justice and equality. What's the difference between you and jesus? There is no difference.

Ethiopian Jews ain't even know about Hanukkah before emigrating to Israel en masse, they were pretty isolated since they had to deal with both Christian and Muslim conquerors in the region. So the practices they kept or never had in this instance suggests migration to Ethiopia at a very early period of history.

what's your point?

Ethiopian Jews are converts to Judaism.

This is all shyt we should know as adults. It would be better to discuss why the roots of Christianity was cut off from Africa. The entire idea around the savior existed in African long before these hebrew religions... This was buried when European explorations began. Many of the symbol, customs, and beliefs found in the old testament were around a couple thousand years before moses.

Why not use Ethiopia and Egypt instead of Africa?

The bible clearly states Jesus was black, bot sure why people still deny this. How many cacs you know with "bronze skin" and "hair looking like wool"

:comeon:

It does not say that.

Your interpreting it that way.

Why not post the entire scripture?

Those descriptions in the Books of Daniel and Revelation were visions by anonymous/pseudonymous authors, not eyewitness accounts.

Eisegesis is not valid for interpretation of text.

Well that's where we can agree to disagree, imo Ethiopian Jews emigrated to Ethiopia 1000s of years ago and you think they were merely converts.

Oh, and Ethiopia and Egypt are in Africa so I guess that's why he's saying it like he is. Nubia had Christian Empires too. Can't separate them from the continent if you tried.

So you are saying that Ethiopian Jews are different then Ethiopian Christians and Muslims genetically speaking?

Where did these Ethiopian Jews emigrate from 1000s of years ago?

It's not about separating Ethiopia and Egypt from the African continent....It's about not being disingenuous and making it seem like Christianity was all over Africa precolonial times (when it reality it was only in Egypt and Ethiopia)

Yeah Ethiopian Jews emigration to Ethiopia is of great antiquity. They're recognized in Israel as one of the lost tribes, the tribe of Dan to be exact. According to their oral history they left after the Babylonians crushed the buildings and gradually migrated through Egypt and stayed until the defeat of Cleopatra's Egypt to Rome. So they left again, some went through Arabia south to Yemen while others followed the Nile or the coastline through Sudan and Eritrea into Ethiopia. Then when Emperor Caleb conquered Yemen and placed it in Axumite control those Jews that went to Yemen migrated to Ethiopia to join the rest of their group in Simien mountains.

Only ones that converted the Judaism out of their group are those that can trace their lineage back to the Agaw people whom are considered the original inhabitants of the northern highlands that Ethiopian Jews came to occupy and dominate early on.

As for the other point, you omitting Sudan's Christian history kinda makes his point tho. Sure early Christianity was mostly an East African affair, doesn't mean it wasn't African. I get what you're saying, but anyone with a brain will know that using such a broad term like Africa is merely to show that Africans(Egyptians, Sudanese, Ethiopians, etc) had a major involvement in the development of today's major religions.

I wasn't being slick young brotha.

Mali contained a place called timbuku that dropped all that religious ether long ago. Egypt book of the dead has stories that are damn near the blue print for Abraham's religions and every religious concept.. Ethiopia and Christianity and early Judaism are all tied together.

Way Down in south Africa there was this :whoo:.... http://www.aren.org/prison/documents/african/1/1.pdf

Also the majority of the African people lived in isolated areas.... the nile regions had the most people and either-way it was only 100 people that produced everyone on Earth. So just because many of these ideas come from Northern Africa doesn't mean that they didn't come from Africa - it just means that they came from the places in Africa with the most people.

It just makes sense that many of it was in East Africa and Ethiopia was the center of that. But geography wasn't a color dividing line back then the People as far as India and UAE were black during the time we are discussing. All of Jesus' people were darker than J cole, so even though they were middle easterners - they are only 'middle easterners' to us because our minds have been trained to think of that region as having mostly Arabic asian and persian people during modern times.

Egypt had the whole creation, man god, son afterlife and religious symbols stories that created Judaism. South African a couple thousand years before had resurrection of the savior stories. 'Mary' is only important because of Auset and Heru. We give the credit to Ethiopia and that region because they populated Asia and brought the ideas there. Credit is given to Egypt because they had trade and a powerful empire that made contact with west first.

The reason this is important isn't because the characters in the bible were black. It's important because 'Jewish' contact with the west, greeks, romans allowed cac to change the stories and alter them to fit into demonic ideas. The story of the air and soul because some story of a spirit that you have no control over until ur fate is decided for you - when in ancient Africa it tied all humans together. 'Jesus'(son) became God and God became something we could never aspire to - When in Africa we strived to be god, with some of us reaching that status. So we see Jesus walking on water and ignore him getting his followers to walk on water as well.

Theres a white dude who wrote this book :
How Africa Shaped the Christian Mind: Rediscovering the African Seedbed of Western Christianity
much of its history has been dismissed as heretical, as argued by German scholars like Adolf von Harnack and Walter Bauer, based upon criteria that prevailed centuries later in Europe. These interpretations are now increasingly regarded as unpersuasive. Even today many African-born scholars trained in the West seem all too ready to play the role of advocates of modern European ideologies.
Inland African cultures were the main testing ground for early Christian dialectical models of the relation of Christianity and culture. These models were hammered out on the ground in Africa before they were transmitted into Sicily, Palestine, Syria, Anatolia, and finally inland Europe.

he was at least black in the way drake is black. But really he would have stood out in his community if he was that light.

Either way.... he's not called 'black' so that 'blacks' can lay claim. The first people to lay claim were white then middle eastern..... they wanted to shut our AFrican influence, and ignore the AFricans that were in the region and deny that their saviors would be considered 'black' by our societies standards. So black people sayings hes' black is essentially saying.... No those characters were not asian or white or antyhing else you claim.... they were the same as their ancestors who were African and they didn't magically become a different race in less than a couple thousand years.

Even someone like me here in the US- half my family is german... and white. We were raped and mixed like crazy yet I still look black. Now, to make people comfortable we are to believe that entire populations with little contact with white people went from African to some other shyt in very little time:wow:
