Nah, Nothing on You and Airplanes were Atlantic records that they initially pushed to Lupe pre-Lasers release... Lupe and Atlantic had their feud, so the label then turned around and gave those songs with the singer's vocals on the hooks to B.o.B.

After hearing that reference 10 Band track... 
For me, I never saw Drake as one of the best lyrical MCs... but I did think he was on top of the game when it came to the hooks/flows and creative choruses for his hits. If he's really getting shyt spoon fed to him like that song where everything that I mentioned is bought by him, then it matters to me at least. Makes me think, how many of these songs where the hooks grab you off bat weren't created by him.

The trade off is nobody is going to ever rank Will Smith in a serious, all time MC list. And that's even with him doing HIS thing on the first two albums.

I wasn't a fan from the jump so I don't care beyond just general disdain for puppets. But if he's gonna be like Kanye and be the OVO orchestrator then cool...just keep it funky, and start giving them nikkas some shine.

Kanye West and Dre came in the game as producers. Everybody knew that they weren't rappers, and they didn't boast about being the best lyrical rappers either. It's always been common knowledge that Kanye collabs with artists all the time and prides himself as a guy that can mesh unexpected sounds together.
Drake came in as a rapper, and he was never seen in the same light as a Kanye West. Drake fans are reaching with the comparison.

The last 4 or 5 reference tracks I've heard were for Dre projects that may or may not see the light of day. Now we're hearing one for someone who's supposed to be Jay Z's lyrical pop star successor. Pop crowd won't really care but whatever validation he was looking for as a legitimate MC legacy is kinda out the window for a lot of people.

He never had much history or much of a resume besides showing up and blowing up. I'm not gonna speculate about "plants" whatever but someone with a fortified history in the culture would have more of a cushion for something like this.
