No all of NY was not rooting for the Muts in that series...

I remember 86 very well...The Muts were the toast of the town in 86 and everybody knows NY is a bandwagon city...but no Yankee fan was rooting for the Muts in 86...that was the worst series for us...

Never been a mets fan. I used to live in Illinois for 4 years and still catch a Cubs game every year when I go to Chicago so they'll always get from me.

Maybe I'd root for them if it wasn't the Cubs they were playing.
