It kinda triggered something,” said Sianis after watching Daniel Murphy crush a homer and steal a key base in the Mets’ 3-2 series-clinching win over the Dodgers Thursday night.

“I didn’t put the two together right away,” he added. “But it did cross my mind.”

While most every baseball fan knows the tale of the Curse of the Billy Goat, few realize the goat in question was actually named Murphy.

'Murphy' curse still haunting the Cubs
:banderas: i had no idea the goat's name was Murphy

Curse lives on. I predict the last game ends in heartbreaking fashion for the cubbies.

No all of NY was not rooting for the Muts in that series...

I remember 86 very well...The Muts were the toast of the town in 86 and everybody knows NY is a bandwagon city...but no Yankee fan was rooting for the Muts in 86...that was the worst series for us...

There is no you root for the NY team when it comes to baseball...It's anybody but the shyt stain the dodgers and giants left in queens and it will always be that way...

:pacspit:
how corny is this dude right here. Trying extra hard.

:wtf:

I can understand not being a mets fan, but going AGAINST NY in favor of Chicago is something I cannot get behind. Only thing saving you from this neg is the fact that we rep the jets :birdman:
Never been a mets fan. I used to live in Illinois for 4 years and still catch a Cubs game every year when I go to Chicago so they'll always get :salute: from me.

Maybe I'd root for them if it wasn't the Cubs they were playing. :manny:
