Little unknown fact: Bernie Mac sung "Take me out to the Ballgame" at Wrigley during Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS, he said "Congrats to the Champion Cubs" before the game even ended :dead: Of course they eventually lost to the Marlins and Bernie later came out and said he was a White Sox fan and hated the Cubs and was :troll: ing :laff: :laff:

Sandy Alderson hints Mets may sit Lucas Duda in Game 1

General manager Sandy Alderson said Friday the Mets may decide to go somewhere else in Game 1 with Cubs southpaw Jon Lester on the mound.

Duda started all five games of the NLDS against the Dodgers — four against left-handed pitchers — but it may not continue Saturday at Citi Field.

The notoriously hot-and-cold slugger, who hit 27 home runs during the regular season, is in one of his deep funks, when contact is almost as rare for him as a stolen base. Granted, Dodgers aces Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw pitched in four of the five games, but Duda still struck out 11 times, and went just 2-for-18 with no RBIs.

Because Juan Uribe (chest) isn’t expected to be on the NLCS roster, it leaves the Mets with limited options if they want to sit Duda. They could start Michael Cuddyer at first base, though Cuddyer went 0-for-4 against the Dodgers, or left-handed hitting Kelly Johnson at second base, with Murphy moving over to first.

Duda did draw a big walk in Game 5, the play in which Murphy went from first to third and scored the tying run on Travis d’Arnaud’s fourth-inning sacrifice fly.

Duda’s struggles go back to the regular season. He went 0-for-10 with six strikeouts in his last four games, though that came after a torrid streak when he hit four home runs in three games.

Matt Harvey: ‘I’ll be last person’ to ever bring up innings limits again

“I think everybody kind of had enough talk and discussion about that whole ordeal,” Harvey said Friday. “I’ll be the last person to ever bring that one up again.”

“I think it’s a fight,” Harvey said of pitching in the playoffs. “I think the biggest thing deGrom showed the other day, I kind of went through it my first start, is when you give up a couple runs, you really have to battle the last couple innings and really try and keep them off the board.’’
