He didn't "kick off" shyt...they were already selling millions of albums before he even hopped on board. He didn't create or innovate a sound either...the "rap-a-lot sound" was already established/created by Bido, Johnny C, Ready Red, Dope E, Doug King...the cracka is a typical leach and industry hypejob. Slightly above average producer at best.

OnlyinCali is a cac, and a clueless one at that.

Cut it out.

Tell Spanish people that Flamenco isn't their music.

What it being "pop" music has to do with anything is beyond me. The music is either rooted in a particular race's culture or it isn't.

I can be the best damn Opera singer that Black America(or any America) has ever seen and that still won't make Opera any less Italian or anymore black.

Imagine my black ass going to Japan, beasting at the genre of Gagaku, and when an interviewer asks me about it I'm like "Well, I don't feel this music is rooted in Asian culture, or even the Japanese. This music belongs to everyone" :dead:
Pop music is meant to be popular, its meant to resonate with various groups of people not just one. Hip-hop crossed that threshhold a long time ago. Also, acknowledging where an art comes from doesn't prohibit others from enjoying it or even contributing to it if they have an genuine appreciation for it.

America's blended nature and youth compared to other nations also make it a cultural anomaly, demographics of who makes/consumes what music included.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
That was him talkin' chit, and he got a right to do that to somebody else who was talkin' chit.

Like you say, "he has some shyt under his belt" - so somebody saying "rap music is not for you"
to the muthafuccer who produced "Smile" and "Fucc Faces" needs to be talked ignorant to...
Nope. Don't agree. Statement was too outlandish and screams of the bullshyt crackas try to pull when they get too comfortable. He coulda shut the bytch down wit facts. He chose to pull some shyt out his ass. And trust me. He really feels that way.

Scarface, NO Joe, and even Bido himself even talk about how he added to the scene but we should believe you eh? Apparently he didn't work on UGK's first album

Ignore Scarface's own words in his book....Ignore Bido who talks positively about him as his mentor and friend....ignore NO Joe's co signing his contributions....

Believe Iron Chin Wilder, the kid who CACs a lot.

What kills me is that if you bring these albums up, these lames will be the first to type out "classic :ohlawd:", then a thread like this happens and they dont even know who was involved in the motherfukker.

Just goes to show you a lot of so-called fans just roll with whatever the consensus is at any given time. Gotta be told what's good and what to like. Wouldn't know a good song if it stomped them out.

shyt is disgusting

Black music and popular music aren't mutual exclusive though. Rihanna and Drake's song "Work" is obviously black music that just so happens to be pop music.

I never said anything about others not being able to enjoy it, but to strip it of what it actually is just because other races like it is insincere IMO. Hip hop will always belong to black americans. Reggae will always belong to black carribeans. Salsa will always belong to the cubans, etc. Doesn't matter how popular it gets.

No he ain't fukkin right. The black music I love is extensive and he ain't touch even 10% of that shyt. He has some shyt under his belt but that comment is arrogant as and not based on any truth.
He hasn't even touched 1% of 1% of 1% of black music that I love.

I won't deny that Mike Dean has a very good body of work when it comes to production credits but he's not that great of a solo producer. His best strength is when he comes in and add additional instrumentation or is engineering to song. I think he's feeling way too insecure. That remark he made seemed to have some disgust in it.

Just be humble you were able to be apart of this shyt, make a living for you're family and shut the fukk up.

So basically the same thing can be said about Dre right? :francis:
