If this was any other franchise I would agree, however the Rooney family as advocated for minority management people for years. The reason they are terrible is...

1. The loss of Pouncey is turning out to be bigger then we think

2. Haley is a terrible offensive coordinator. Him and Ben have not seen eye to eye since he got there....Im sure there are people who remember how pissed Ben was when Bruce Arians was forced out the door.

3. They haven't drafted as well as they used to. Year after year they used to let premium talent walk out the door cause they didnt want to pay them......only to replace them via the draft and not miss a beat.

I hope you're right. The problem is I've seen this movie so many times so I know how it will end.

I've honestly struggled to maintain a positive attitude towards the Steelers in recent years, despite growing up a fan and still living in pgh, because of the things mentioned in this thread.

Big Ben :demonic:
racist ass redneck fans:scusthov: :camby:

If they fire tomlin (which I doubt) what little respect I have left will be gone.

He isnt the problem. The team hasnt drafted well recently. Lebeau is like 80 years old and Haley is a clown.

Ben is still good. The team has just aged and the replacements that are generally just as good, havent been. The Steelers used to transition talent better than any team in the league.

He's not getting fired. He has a 2-3 year window of oppurtunity before he gets fired. The front office is all about stability, they're not going to make drastic changes in the coaching staff based on a down year.

Mike Tomlin isn't the problem. Todd Haley isn't the problem (they said the same things about Bruce Arians/Ken Whisenhunt). It's the personnel/talent....

-The team hasn't had a decent draft in a while, might want to revamp the scouting department. Some of the top guys in there are 65-70 years old. Get some new ideas in that draft room. They haven't hit a homerun in the 1st round since 2007. You can't just draft solid players, you gotta get playmakers.

-Gotta fix the cap issues. Make the tough cuts. Quit restructuring contracts, you're only making a bigger problem down the line. Ryan Clark, Brett Keisel, Troy Polamalu, Ziggy Hood, Larry Foote don't do enough to justify their price tag. I would include Ike Taylor, but due to lack of CB development, he should be safe. Same goes for Roethlisberger, due to lack of QB development, he's safe.

-Once the cap is fixed, they need to use free agency as a tool. You can't do everything thru the draft anymore. It can't be that difficult to attract free agents to a successful franchise such as Pittsburgh has been.

I can't stand the Steelers but if y'all fire Tomlin at the end of this year, that team deserves whatever bad that happens to them (i.e. losing seasons, etc.)

Tomlin's a great coach. I'd take him over Marvin Lewis every single time.

as a steeler fan we have one of the most biased fanbases in the entire league, some dude on twitter yesterday said we would still win 10 games this year and could compete with any team in the league if we made the playoffs :what:

not to mention the non sense i hear at work from the cacs.

I agree with those sayin talent is the issue.

Outside of Roethlisberger's scrambling, nothin is exciting about this team.

My question is, would those hardworking white ppl in Pitt be open to a flashy offense? U know some of those ppl would rather win the ugly way instead of flashy.

My homie worked for a factory in piitsburgh and when he came to work in a brand new Lexus 460, them white ppl tried to get him fired. He drove his 1987 f150 to work there on out

They don't know what they want. When they had Bruce Arians as the OC, and they lit it up with their passing attack, people were complaining they were too pass happy. As they try to go back to a rushing attack this year, people complain that they don't pass enough. Can't have it both ways
