The end of the world isn't going to be this big dramatic event. It will just be a series of things failing over time. Droughts that last years, famines that last decades, massive natural disasters popping off every season, viruses going crazy because not enough health care workers are around to prevent the spread, wars over the few resources that remain, and the endangered status of dietary staples like rice and wheat because they need large areas of land and predictable seasons to grow and be harvested.

You'll see the world population shrink every year until by 2250 we will have probably a few million people left if any. The natural resources and systems that allowed humanity to grow to 7 billion will collapse and humanity will either be straight up extinct or will be in WAAAAAAAY smaller communities and numbers.

We still in a globalized world. All your food isn't locally sourced, so if for example there are droughts in eastern Europe that's a loss of tons of grains.

If there are biblical floods and tsunami in Asia that's tons of rice gone. That's not accounting for the loss in labor if so many people are dying from the natural disasters.

When the biggest beef producing countries have droughts and can't supply feed for cows, that Jack's up the price of meat, making it less affordable for people.

In Canada there are forest fires, so construction projects will have to be stalled because forests have burned down. What happens if California experiences a droughts and an earthquake but can't fully repair the buildings because there's no lumber? How do they rebuild the houses lost in the Canadian forest fires if there's no wood and it's too energy intensive to use concrete?

People literally don't think like that, at least the fiscally frugal ones.
