I understand Adam LaRoches feelings but as a dad I think it actually sets a poor example for his son. Sometimes we need to accept that there are boundaries in and out of work and that they should be respected. Baseball like any other sport relies on a lot of different personalities and some of guys probably feel stifled having to hold back f-bombs and not tell stories about smashing some single mom in the back of a loaded chevy truck. Or not crack open a beer or take an 'aspirin'. The manager's request was very reasonable. All he said was don't bring you son every day, he didn't say 'keep that pimple faced fakkit out my lockerroom :camby:

It makes sense on how dismissive and clueless you are to not recognize the racial undertones in this situation. Many whites play dumb and naive
No. Your problem is you want it to be there, so it's there. If they switched spots, you'd be shytting on the white GM for handcuffing the black player's rights as a parent, while what I'm saying wouldn't change one bit. In this case, it's simply a fact of the players not liking the front office stepping into their space and dictating change. Nothing more, nothing less.

Because I'm white I'm clueless? This is why I stay out of race arguments, because you know everything about me, and what kind of person I am, all based on one thing. So tiresome.

Nah, I don't want racial undertones to be there.secondly, if the player was black and the GM was white in this case, I would side with the GM. The kid was in the clubhouse way too much. End of story. LaRoach couldn't handle a black man with authority over him, so he decided to be a little bytch and take his ball and go home :manny:

Good way to show your kid you're a quitter who has a lack of respect for authority

It's odd because how does the kid have a damn locker if the organization didn't "ok" it?

:dahell:

And if the coaches said it was fine, and it was in his contract that his kid could be there 24/7, was Kenny Williams left out of all of this before he put his foot down?

I don't get it.

It's just a complete shyt show

They said it was OK when they signed him, but they changed their mind I guess

Kenny is taking the bullet for everyone else because you can't have half the players hating the manager

Kenny isn't with the team every day like Robin and Rick Hahn

Wow

So maybe the players had no problem with the kid being around all the time?

Some reports are saying 'some' or 'a number of' players approached Williams about the kid spending too much time with the team. There is a posssibiy that some players didn't care that he was there. Williams probably spoke for the players that came to him when he told laroche his kid couldn't be there 100 percent of the time. If some players went to Williams in private they are probably not trying to stand up in front of the whole team and said it was them who didn't want the kid around.
