I mean looking at the pics posted, looks like they're into that red neck hunting and shyt so it's not like hes balling outta control and gonna be on broke pt 2...

Even though it's highly probable he's a racist cac, I'm not gonna hate on the man for wanting to spend more time with his son considering his son is gonna think he's too old to hang around his dad like that in a year or so...

Ken Williams is taking one for the team. He looks bad in the public's eye, but you know multiple players/coaches have come up to him regarding the issue. He's not gonna throw the whole clubhouse under the bus with the actual truth.

Bingo.

A lot of players on the team said Laroche was overdoing it, Kenny def took one for the team.

White Privilege? SMH, leave it to this site to always bring race in a spot it has no place in. So annoying.

Anyways, I can see both sides of this, but Rosenthal talked to an agent that makes a good point:

When the Front Office is dictating what's going on in the clubhouse, that's not necessarily a good thing. Whatever the case, dude is basically done, and he's walking away from $13m. Of course if he had hit 280/350/550 and 25 HRs last year, this wouldn't be an issue.

Well it's being reported that several players voiced complaints/concerns over how much his son was around.

So :ld:

Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
I'm not :mjpls: but some posts in here are reaching more than anything. Dude has played over a decade in the league and made tens of millions of dollars I'm sure he'll be okay :rudy:
And he wanted to spend more time with his kid. Since when was that a bad thing :rudy:
His time in the big leagues was getting limited anyways :rudy:

I salute him for wanting to spend time with his seed, just call it what it is; say "I'm retiring cause I want to spend more time with my family", no need to act like a petulant little kid who takes his ball and goes home cause he doesn't get his way. What if everybody on the team decided to bring their seed in to work every day? It would get real old real quick. Somewhere along the way it was gonna get out of hand.

That was my first thought. Like somebody else mentioned we all got that friend that whenever you hang out wants his kid around but then wants you to walk on pins and needles around them. And just as an adult I behave a certain way around kids compared to normal. So if the kid is ALWAYS around after a while it would get uncomfortable after a while for the players.

Adam LaRoche is only 36? :usure: It seems like he's been around forever. Also, a 14 yr old should be in school. WTF is he doing in a clubhouse? :martin:

WATCH 9-Year-Old Bat Boy Dies After Being Struck by Bat
A 9-year-old bat boy for a Kansas baseball team died Sunday, one day after he was accidentally struck by a bat during a game.

Kaiser Carlile, the bat boy for the Liberal Bee Jays summer team in Liberal, Kansas, was struck in the head as a player took practice swings during Saturday’s game against the San Diego Waves. Carlile was wearing a helmet.

He was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by the bat.

“With the permission of the family, and with much sorrow and a very broken heart, I regretfully inform everyone that Kaiser Carlile passed away earlier this evening,” team president Nathan McCaffrey wrote in a statement. “Please keep his family and our team in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all for the support during this ordeal.”

Kadon Simmons, a player on the team, referred to Carlile as "a little brother I never had" in an Instagram post.

"No person or team could ask for a better bat boy," Simmons wrote. "It is terrible to see you leave in such a way, but knowing your last moments were on the baseball field makes it easier through this whole process, because you were doing what you loved."

The Liberal Bee Jays play in the Jayhawk Baseball League, a summer league for college players.

People forget about this but I'm sure the white sox considered this when they made the decision...smart business imo

I don't blame Ken Williams and I'm sure his teammates weren't fond of his kids being there everyday. I don't see anything wrong with what sox did. And at the same time, good for Laroche. He's able to afford to stay home with his family. I wish I could stay home with my son everyday and I actually like my job. some of you guys here are miserable fukks.
