You don't really see this sort of thing anymore on tv.
Today it's just that "Coke vs Pepsi wars" template that Jon Stewart referenced on Crossfire, where you have people from one side, people from an opposing side but there's no analysis.

It's sad how little progress was made in that capacity since...when was this video? 1972 or so?

Bill Maher does try.
And Maher gets a lot of shyt, especially on this site. But I think he does try to cut through the bullshyt.

I don't have too many big gripes with him, except that he gives a platform to people who sometimes don't deserve it. Look, it's one thing to have conservatives on his show. He does it all the time.
It's another thing to give pieces of shyt like Ann Coulter a platform though. There's no excusing that.
