Why would there be pressure on LJ to perform? If he has a bad year he'll still be given another 2-3 as a starter. Players like Wentz and Darnold's future as starting QBs in the league is on the line. If they play like shyt all excuses are gone and they are relegated to likely being backup QBs for the rest of their careers.

They aren't MVP QBs that's the difference.......

That accelerates the timeline and puts pressure on him to have postseason success whether people or The Coli want to admit or not. Succeed breeds expectations and accelerates timelines and we talk about it in other sports all the time.

Payton Manning does not get shytted on til this day for his postseason play. All of that talk died after the Colts won that super bowl.

No way, especially considering Indy lost the SB to the Saints after the first win.

---
Bringing up Manning is weird anyway, he led the NFL in passing yards/TDs in his 3rd year, but Jones says he didn't make the "LEAP" until year 6, because year 6 is when the Colts got their first playoff win. :camby: That right there is Jones shytting on Manning for his postseason play.

Obviously they're more playing for their future in the league but Lamar is looking to solidify himself as one of the best. I just think there's more media scrutiny and pressure that comes along with that. If Darnold starts the season like shyt they'll just bench him and move on

He's only started two years and always won an MVP

what about all the other QBs older than him with lower passing ratings and none of his achievements

who do they need to do

exactly why football is a trash slave sport
Have you seen NBA coverage?

Only an idiot will blame a sport for how idiots in media cover it. :camby:

Pick another route to use that, it doesn't fit here. Trying too hard.

I really like to see LJ with a true number 1 wide receiver.

If they threw it more, they'd probably have one. But that's not their offense, and it's never been Greg Roman's offense as he has typically built an offense around a mobile QB's strengths, which most smart coaches ought to do. I get it. They dominate on the ground and nobody is scoring more than they are.

But after a certain point, it's on Roman to actively call plays to where the WRs they have can show and prove. Lamar is the premier dual-threat in the league, but in general he is trying to be a pass-first QB and over the last two drafts, the Ravens have acquired FOUR wide receivers that had at least one full season as the No. 1 WR on their college teams. Hollywood's been hurt in the past, sure, but their WR room might actually be something if the Ravens were willing to toss the ball around a little more.

I read somewhere in a past interview where Hollywood -- who has said in the past the offense needs more balance -- basically said something to the effect of "There are plenty passing plays in the book. The WRs have to give the coaches a reason to call those plays."

It shouldn't be like that. It should be "the coaches give a WR a chance to show and prove." Otherwise, what's the point of practice and training camp for them? The Ravens passing attack is criticized for being ranked 32nd... but they also throw it the absolute least. Baltimore has invested entirely too much draft work into receivers to not even try to use them.

No, Lamar Jackson being an MVP would give him more years than inferior QBs who haven't done as much. That is how this works.

You can put pressure on Lamar Jackson that he needs more postseason success as an elite QB. The Fowler comments made it seem like Lamar Jackson will be out of the NFL at the end of this season if he doesn't show and prove, which is horse shyt.

Then they should have acquired another dynamic TE with Andrews and filled out their team with WRs that dominate over the middle and underneath.

Winning MVP accelerates the timeline breh and you'd be lying if you said that we didn't do it with players in other sports. Success in sports and in life accelerates timelines and increases expectations. That's how it works whether you agree with it or not. You can't use Lamar Jackson's MVP and regular season success as an excuse to make him a top QB, but then turn around and use it as an excuse as to why he shouldn't get criticism for his lack of post success. That's not how it works. His regular season success and MVP don't mean shyt if he can't get it done when it matters the most.

Also no one said that he would be out of the league if he didn't perform in the postseason this year, so I don't know why you're trying to speak that narrative into excuse :mjlol:

He doesn't have the receivers, hollywood is his number 1, you can't be serious

Lamar Jackson Pocket Passer Highlights 2020 - YouTube

you can see plenty of completions outside the numbers, you just another nerd using terminology you don't understand

Matt Stafford can in the league before Cam newton, was the highest paid rookie ever, hasn't done anything his entire career, Lamar has already surpassed him, nobody said Stafford can't play

Give Lamar a receiver like Megeatron and see what happens, he will break every record

give him a receiver that can stretch the field and you will see the best deep ball in football
