I don't understand the hate that "Summer on Smash" gets on here! That's a banga to me! LIG was a overall good album. I just think some of Nas' production still turns a lot of people off. Lyrically of course Nas is always on point, it's just that a lot of the beats don't really slap like that and are real mellow. My favorite tracks are "Locomotive" "A Queens Story" (even though I wish he woulda used the first 40 seconds as the beat to the whole song!) "Summer on Smash" "You Wouldn't Understand" "The Don"(heatrock!) and "Where's the Love". Not my favorite Nas album (It Was Written) but far from a dud!

Solid album...3-3.5 mics

Remove Accident Murderers, Summer on Smash, and World's an Addiction and add all the bonus joints and it maybe brings it up to about a 3.5-4 mics

About 6th best in his catalogue

Def overrated on here but solid release nonetheless given my man is 20 years in the game and still dropping dope music

Fav 5 include Loco-Motive, Cherry Wine, Bye Baby, The Don, and Nasty

Life Is Good is one of Nas's best efforts. It's easily his best since God's Son and arguably his best since Lost Tapes. Everything about the album is on point. IMO, there's only two missteps and those weren't necessarily wack songs, but just didn't do the album much justice ("Summer On Smash" and "Reach Out"). Nas killed "Reach Out", but the production just wasn't up to par.

He is doing headline shows in a major international market at two of the most well known arenas where the only other rappers who do those kinda shows are like Jay, 50, Drake and Kanye...that arguably matters more these days for an artist.
