I’m about to enroll my kids in private school. They are both gifted. The older one is very artistic and I could see him being a writer or some type of visual artist someday.

The younger one is 4 and reads fluently, plays piano and is doing 2nd grade math.

Our local public school is decent but of course has big classes and kids that just go to school to play around.

Is private school worth the cost and investment?

I’m looking at a 100’s of thousands of dollars k-12.

Would it be wiser to put them in public schools, with after school tutuoring and activities, saving that tuition money for college and trust funds for them?

Any experiences with private scholars Coli brehs? :sadcam:

The young ones in my community that went to private school are so far ahead atm it's not even funny.

Used to hate on it but if you keep them far away from the demented rich white kids you shouldn't have any issues tbh

Your kids are already advanced, there's the sad reality that they might stagnate if they don't skip grades. Gifted kids need specific curriculums to succeed. And that involves gifts within the arts and sciences.

Its no different.... Same curriculum..... The only difference is you pay money so your kids can wear funny uniforms and be "prestigious"

I did that shyt my whole life... It was just for my parents ego... My public school homies was learning the same shyt.

If you live in a good neighborhood , a public school is the same as a private school in terms of what the children learn

I actually went to an all-black private school from 2nd to 8th grade. My parents thought it was worth the investment at least for elementary school but I think it started getting expensive by the time I was about to graduate.

Now with high school, I'm not sure about the investment, I went to a county magnet high school and still ended up going to one of the best colleges in my state.

If you do send them to private school make sure you check out the place thoroughly. I remember visiting white private high schools and there was always a :mjpls: air there. One of the admission ladies once told my parents that an A at my all-black elementary school was not the same as an A at that particular school.

The school my kids got accepted to offers a robotics class, STEM is part of the curriculum, class sizes are smaller, they had 3rd graders giving PowerPoint presentations. Nah it ain’t the same as our local public school.

Definitely understand the ego thing though. That’s part of the unspoken marketing. Whispers of who else’s children go there.

It's definitely a good environment for sure! Just a notch above public school.

Its definitely a flex as well.... because you know every kid's parents got bread

My school had a decent amount of brehs as well, so black excellence was definitely in the building

It's worth it. Smaller classes for more individual attention at a young age doesn't hurt at all. if you have the paper, do it. Even some of these private joints have financial aid. Do all that you can do to give your kids the best education possible fam.

If you feel that they are really special you should home school them for a while and get them into middle school earlier than they would at the normal rate, and then have them graduate high school early and enroll into college early :manny:

Not possible.

My dream would be to find a great charter school in the area but there are none in my county.

I went to private schools all my life in DC because DC public schools weren't shyt when I was going to school - there was only one good HS and it was outside my neighborhood

Great education- $$ expensive

Honestly it depends where you live if you need to put your kids in private school - if you are in a good school district or there's a good charter school near , it may not be needed
