Like I said in the other thread: The Heat should move on. Sign Shawn Marion and play James Ennis.

We gonna have to be top ten defensively to be legit next season. We're not going to score a lot, so no more of that not focusing shyt, we gotta lock shyt down.

Breh, look at our roster.

That is not a good defensive roster at all.

Napier/Cole
Wade/Granger
Ennis/Beasley(?)
Bosh/McRoberts
Oden/Haslem

He's going to get signed for $10 mil, just not here. Phoenix and maybe Dallas will give that to him. Riley should walk away. No need to give Luol Deng 4 years/$44+ million. I'd rather throw like 4 yrs/$12-16 mil at Al Farouq Aminu. Then sign Marion and they can platoon at SF. Then use the rest of that cap space to get a PG like Jerryd Bayless, DJ Augustin, or Ramon Sessions and a big man like Andray Blatche or Jason Smith to go with Oden/Bird.
But, Pat will probably end up overpaying Deng, but hopefully just for 2 years with a team option for the 3rd. Maybe 3 years/$36 million front loaded with a team option.

Chalmers/wade/qrich/Haslem/j.oneal/beasley was a top 5 defense 5 yrs ago :yeshrug: Spo will make sure we are set on that end

I tell you one move I didn't like..getting rid of Joel Anthony, I wish we could get him back for defense alone

The thing that bothered me about that move is that we didn't get any better from it. I understand it was to clear space just in case Joel opted in but at least get a good piece out of it.

Not only did they not get anything, they had to give away that 76ers first round pick they got for Moultrie. That would be a useful mid first round pick either this year or next. They fukked things up trying to save $17 mil. If they had kept Miller, they could've amnestied Joel, kept that pick, and either kept Mike, or used him and Cole in a trade with that pick to upgrade at another position. It was a huge fail.

It's really crazy when you think about how fiscally shrewd Riles and Arison have been during the Lebron era. When you mention that pick, we passed on Perry Jones, a lottery pick that fell because of a knee issue, but then we turn around and sign Oden. They could of done a lot of things differently.
