You go to school, get a good education, follow the law, do everything the right way, and still get racially profiled, pulled over, followed around in stores, always assumed you're up to no good, it's going to have a negative effect on your mind, and emotional well being.
White men want no competition. A black woman is not a threat to them, because this is a patriarchal society. Boys need to see men who look like them succeeding. You see what happened after Obama. The man didn't do anything for black people other than serve as an inspiration. THAT was enough to make white people go crazy. Just the image of that man and his family in that position scared the hell out of white people.
If Blake and Tyrone are applying for the same job, Glen wants to hire Blake not only because he sees himself in Blake, but because he doesn't want Tyrone to have money, and compete with him. Glen will hire Kisha, because Kisha isn't a threat, and he knows once Kisha gets the six figure job, she is not getting with Tyrone, who works at the cable company. The more money black people have, the more we can run for office, vote ourselves in, and compete. We can also afford o hire attornies, and keep ourselves out of prison for wrongful accusations, and petty bullshyt.
Going back to getting pulled over, what is the result? Tickets cost money, and sometimes require court. That's not only money, but time off work. I could go on, but you get my general point.
