Failing to contextualize that the Eastern Conference (during the early 00s) was in its worst state of the modern era, and that those same Nets squads would get destroyed in the 1st round in today's league. At the time I would have put Kidd over Lowry but at Lowry to me was always a top 10 pt guard in the NBA for most his career, imo. But now the accolades and his performances late in the season post season are putting the exclamation mark on his career and it may be pretty close once it's all said and done.

If I recall, he was the assigned defender in spot moments against 3/5 of that year's All NBA Team in that playoff run. Kobe,KD, and LBJ.
He held his own against 3 of the greatest offensive players of all time, at that age.

Yes. Kidd would have been the better defender and better orchestrate of the offense/facilitator. Getting other guys easy baskets and giving them the ball in position to score was always his calling card as a player.
