Sure Kidd had no jump shot until he was already Larry Holmes status, but he was an excellent defender and general. OF course the team had to be geared to his strengths but.... Lowry over Kidd???

Well for starters he lived off reputation longer than he was "excellent" on that end, and Lowry is a excellent defender in his own right - only a few PGs have been better than him on that end this season. Besides like I say time and time again, you can only have so much impact from the PG position on defense; it's all about the scheme and help around you - without them you could very well have the ability of GP yet look and have the defensive impact of Calderon. The difference here is that even despite Lowry's inconsistencies he's a flat out better offensive player than Kidd ever was.

We both know which stats you was about to run to breh. You can shyt on the East when Kidd made it to the finals but it's not much better now and I'd bet my soul that if you dropped Lowrys Raptors in those playoffs where Kidd made back to back finals they wouldn't be able to even make one.

Prime Kidd was flawed but he worked around his flaw. It was not like Dwight insisting on getting the ball in the post when he can't score effectively in the post. Kidd couldn't shoot so he didn't. Despite this handicap. his teams ran a fluid offense based on Kidd's incredible court vision and passing. The raptors? Their offense is a series of isolation plays with a few picks thrown in. Lowry has a better jump shot than prime kidd, absolutely. Adonal Foyle had a better jump shot than prime Kidd. But I don't think Lowry has as much impact on the offensive end as prime kidd.

Understand, i was not a fan of Kidd. He's not overrated modernly like AI but claiming Lowry NOW is better than prime Kidd is tough to swallow.
