I've yet to see somebody provide a sound counter argument as to why Kidd was better at his best. What's wrong with you nikkas?

The thing that these dudes don't get is that Kidd's peak was never that great - there's probably 10-20 PGs who were better at their absolulte best. Refrencing all his career acheviements and longevity has little to no relevance in this discussion.

and? are you also penalizing golden state finals run in 2015 when they beat bunch of injured squads while avoiding spurs, thunder and clippers??
some of yall missing the fact that Kidd took his poor supporting cast to the finals twice, his team wasn't far above the rest of the conference or anything like that, he won the series that didn't have a clear better team.
he even swept detroit pistons that had all their main players from championship year except sheed who was still in portland. Can't take that away from Kidd, in those two years he did a lot for the nets

It's two dudes in here going so hard about Lowry being better when they KNOW they're wrong because everyone sees as ridiculous the claims are.
As good as Lowry has been this year and last, at his absolute peak right now, he's still not on Kidd's level as a complete point guard.

Had fukking Todd MacCulloch as his staring center looking decent and dude never played again once he left the Nets.
Brought out the best in a young Richard Jefferson who was his second option. He brought THESE nikkas to the NBA finals, twice.
It would be laughable to think Kyle Lowry would be able to do the same with those players or current NBA players with their level of talent. Kidd was that good and he got robbed out of at least one MVP. He was a leader and damn near a coach on the floor and knew how to bring out the best in the players around him.

Plenty of people here tried to criticize Curry for that year despite his historic season and winning the championship.
No one is saying Kidd sucks but he got swept in the finals and had a 2-8 record in the finals. The Curry comparison is dumb.
The League has changed and guys who can't shoot and just distribute like Kidd did aren't as valuable. Lowrys been insane for the last few seasons and no one wants to admit it because they don't watch the Raptors regularly

Norman Powell and Cory Joseph guarded Thomas pretty much the whole game and all of the fourth
you can't just say oh todays league has changed and kidd is not as valuable as he was, it's not a good comparision because you are comparing different eras. With this comparision you are basically giving extra points to todays league players when each era had their own styles.
kidd got swept by shaq and kobe I mean seriously look at the roster kidd had...he was facing prime shaq, kobe and timmy in those two years, we are talking about 3 of the top 10 players ever.
the main point is that kidd took his team to the finals, twice, which is a good accomplishment. It has nothing to do with east being poor like you said, because kidds team was poor too. Him winning competitive series and taking his team to the finals twice shows how great of a leader he actually was. It's a simple logic.

The 2004 pistons were a lot better than the 2003 one tho. rasheed was a top 5 PF they got for giving away nothing, billups and tayshawn prince improved...prince was a rookie in 2003 averaging 3ppg and Larry Brown knew how to coach that team better than rick could.
Not saying u were wrong but the 2003 pistons werent that good even tho they had 4 outta 5 starters from that Championship Pistons team.
But would lowrey beat that team if you were to replace him with Jason Kidd? No
