Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I see a lot of people shocked at the cost of some of these homes/condos in other countries, so this thread is to highlight just how far the dollar you have can go. Rather than buying that new whip you could realistically buy a home abroad and rent it out on AirBnB while you're not there, or retire there before 40, teach English part-time and make more than the average citizen living there.

This is what $90,000 will get you in Barranquilla, Colombia.

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1200 square feet and about a mile from the beach in one of South Americas safest cities.

Maybe you don't want to buy and renting with the option to buy later is your thing -

Fully furnished 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, doorman building + fitness room on the beach for $413 a month in Santa Marta, Colombia. You can find even cheaper places that are right outside the cities, in both of these cases you'd be able to make around $1200 a month teaching English (25 hours a week), the average Colombian makes $8300 a year.

Everything is cheaper, for example I took a shytty city like Rochester which has a low cost of living in comparison to the rest of NY

When I lived in Korea, eating out was the norm for me. I would eat out 7 days a week. Average meal was 3-4 dollars. Buying groceries and cooking at home was something special for having friends over or whatever.

:wow:

A fukking sandwich, chips and a drink from the deli near me averages out to $12. The Sandwich itself is like $8 and change :to:

I would go out for lavish dinners every Friday there. Big bottles of beer for 3 bucks in a restaurant, they have this liquor called soju that you order bottles of to your table, also about 3 bucks. All the meat you can grill .. maybe 6 bucks a person. I loved going out in korea :mjcry:

I went to a Korean place in Fort Lee, NJ on Thursday and it was $54 for 3 of us, I couldn't imagine it only being $6 a person. You the Food Mane, so I know you were :blessed: out there.

Dont know for sure but one of my friends lived in Brazil and he came back because he missed being here. Maybe that happened for ole boy and also a lot of cats seem to want to go to get more bang for their buck(which I understand) but if you can do that here why move unless you this fed up with US living. I know some do it for women or that's a component but. I can't co sign them and think they weak :yeshrug:

Its not how you live its what you save

shyts not really adding up either. NYC, they demand ur salary be at least 40x a year's rent. $1200/mo -> $360/mo max rent, and thats in a city where u dont need a car to get around. General rule of thumb for buying a home is that with a 20% down payment you can afford up to 5x your salary (and that's really pushing it). $1200/mo->$14400/yr x 5 = $72000. And thats with American mortgage rates. Foreign mortgages have shorter terms and much higher rates cutting down affordability even further.

Not saying brehs shouldnt look into it. But brehs should REALLY look into it. I have family who have set up shop abroad after being here. shyt is not all gravy.

I lived in Brazil, I came back because my family got in my ear, but I would have stayed otherwise. It's just a more laidback lifestyle.

I believe that but if you've been down south theres lots of spots down there that are laid back too. I mean I'm all for cats doing what they feel to make them happy but sometimes what some of these cats say I'm like nah man not buying it (not that they care either). Again I'm glad you had that experience and its something more people probably should do just to get out of their comfort zone but I think similar things can be accomplished just going to different parts of America.

You're not going to find any apartments in major metropolitan areas like that with beach views & all those amenities for under a million in the US :ld:

There are homes for guys like @LarryLobster on the beach for under $300,000 in a lot of places as well.
