It's fukking 82 games.. of course the fan will lose some interest so the play in is awesome to ramp up the attention..

And that #1 gets a bye is awful.. imagine sitting out for a whole week + to play..

And tho it's usually a easy series.. we've seen a few 1/8 series that were awesome

I personally would get rid of the draft...no more incentives to tank and be bad...you want good young talent...either spend the money to have scouts and evaluators who go around the world to find it, or be good enough to attract them to your team. Losing shouldn't end up getting you something good in the long run.

Losing also shouldn't in effect cost a city a franchise.

Americans won't tolerate a set up like the Prem League where you're only really giving a damn about 2-3 teams because everyone else is a feeder system for you and that's what you'd be setting up without a draft, because some things you inherently can't change.

The 1st seeds of each conference in the NBA get a automatic bye to the 2nd round just like the 1st seeds of each conference in the NFL get automatic byes to the divisional round



The 8th seeded teams in both conferences don’t make the playoffs

It will give meaning and purpose to the regular season. Teams will challenge and play harder


Wildcard round/1st round (best of 5)

#2 vs #7
#3 vs #6
#4 vs #5


2nd round (best of 7) (bracket reseeded, the highest seed remaining vs the lowest seed remaining, then the second highest seed vs the second lowest seed)

Example:

#1 vs #4
#2 vs #3

Or

#1 vs #7
#3 vs #4





Eliminate the play-in games completely. Or create only one play-in/wildcard game between the 7th seed and the 8th seed for the 7th seed in each conference. 9th and 10th seeded teams miss the playoffs just like the old days.

Where is the lost playoff revenue coming from?
Unless you want something like a 100+ game regular season.

Exactly. Top teams are fighting to stay above the 6th seed and lower seeds are fighting to get in the the play-in.
