Lux was straight scaring nikkas. That's why it's funny to see how crazy revisionist history goes. You even see calicoe 2-1 sometimes. Around that time, that was the worst body of all time clearly. Lol

Con, Rex, Holla ...even DNA(!) have more claim to that 4th spot that Verb. Dude's been living off 'Guardian angels duck' all his career if we wanna keep it 100.

I forgot him, he's a candidate. S.O.N.S revolutionized back to back punchlines & schemes. Con was the face of that, the same way Verb was the face of the Midwest Movement. If we don't have SONS you don't have Chilla. And Chilla influenced a lot of people as well. Con also brought a new dynamic to performance. He was selling the hell out of simple, obnoxious gestures. Serius did it first, but it was unscripted, and just looked like Serius was naturally a jerk. Con & Goodz were doing these things purposely, in an exaggerated but still smooth way.

The only problem is that his reign on the top was short like leprechauns.

A strong year on URL, beating at least 3 without debate OR in classic type battles where he goes into that mode puts him in that top tier no doubt category. It's just a few wins at this point.. nobody doubts the ability.

Something about that match seems like a mismatch, if that makes any sense. Lux might be a lyrical miracle dude, but standing with him without having established street credentials that the crowd recognizes and accepts will make it look like a weird battle.

I think that captures the biggest problem fans have with the match.
Lux vs the guy who battle raps really really well.

You take battle rap away from Lux, Goodz, Verb, Daylyt, Diz or Hollow they still have memorable qualities.

Wow dude dropped a lot of info one some of Lux' rhymes I remember watching Lux vs Hollow the day after it happened I had Hollow with a clear 3-0, now it's the EXACT opposite lmao never had a battle that I switched my opinion so dramatically Lux was talking to him all battle still a classic probably 2nd best battle ever, nothing has topped Verb and Hitman though

Yall kill me with that, "when I go back and watch blah blah". Almost everyone had Hollow beating Lux, now he lost 3-0 lol? People completely disregard timeliness when it comes to battle rap. Of course your perception of a battle is gonna be different when you go back and watch it because you already know what's coming next. How is that not taken into consideration? Hollow's appeal is partially his spontaneity. He say and do shyt on the fly that's a million times more impressive when it's happening in the moment. Writing complex bars that people catch 3 years after the fact doesnt mean you won the battle all of a sudden. it means you wrote a bar that was likely far too complex for the battle in the first place.

With that said, it's the GOAT battle to me.

Hell Roc vs Dna for example....that was the best Dna I ever seen lyrically and I've hated dna since grindtime. He actually had dope material meanwhile Roc from all the updates had him 3-0 or "goin out of space" on Dna. That footage dropped and we all seen he was light as shyt all 3 rds.

My criticism isn't unique to this board, it's about battle rap in general. Going back and watching a battle, doesnt provide proper clarity if you already know what's gonna happen. Of course a scary movie isn't as scary the 2nd time around because you know when the jump scenes are coming. But hey that's just me. Still got Lux losing.
