Lol yeah

Kenny really in tune

They name drop battle rap sometimes on Inside the NBA, Shaq has been known particularly to shout out Suge and Lux (obviously he's worked with them before). The other day I was watching Jalen & Jacoby and Jalen said he used to watch battle rap to get hype before games, and namedropped Mook, Lux, and Party Arty. Athletes, particularly hoopers and boxers, seem to be VERY in tune with battle rap, which makes sense considering the competitive aspect of it all.

I'm hoping that Ars will find a way to channel this notoriety to a hit record.

ONE of them has to at some point, right?

Dizaster got looks against Canibus and Cassidy but didn't really do shyt with it. Hollow got the battle with Budden but didn't really do shyt with it. Lux had the most - his round went viral, Jay Z tweeted about him, Farrakhan was bigging him up - but it didn't translate like it could have for him. Mook, well, signed with Conglomerate, whatever that means. Surf looked like he might be able to get a push in the industry but he kept throwing rocks at the pen.

Arsonal seems to do good business with people, networks well, his music is cool or whatever to me but that's subjective of course, hopefully he can do what the others didn't.

I don't think Arsonal needs to be a rapper to be successful.
He understands promotion & marketing, so he doesn't necessarily need to be in front of the camera.
He does need to expand beyond promoting battle rap though, cause Smack has this shyt on lock. Cultivating talent on UDUBB hasn't panned out well, because every youngin who believes they can be somebody in this game wants a PG battle.

Rad B is a fukking tax write off SMH.

Rap is so trash now the two big hits this year Magnolia and Bodak Yellow are :trash:

Ars has the big connections. Chris Brown has like 30 million IG followers, then he's got Snoop, Shaq, Kenny, all the battlers, URL, etc. etc. all Ars needs is a catchy hook and the right beat.

I don't expect any of them to become hit-makers, but I'm still waiting on just one of them to become a real strong independent artist.

I thought it was going to be Surf. His projects sound the most polished out of any battle rapper. I believe he's the type of guy who is able to gather a following.

Mook? I always thought he lacked the "it" factor to really be a strong artist. One thing he has going for him, and @wizworld touched on this, is that other artists are fans of him based on those smack DVD's.

Lux? I think he has all the tools, but lacks any sort of direction. Beat selection overall is pretty bad and puts together awful projects.

I would like to see Con or Hitman make an attempt, but they don't seem to have any desire to make music.

So they're saying Summer Madness won't be on PPV

But I'm gonna assume that's a ploy until they get close to a sell out for the show since attendance has been down besides Nome
They're doing what they do and what UDubb should've done... you tell people there's no PPV until you sell out the building, then you announce the PPV and the fans who can't come to the event think it's a gift from God you've given them.

UDUBB can afford to deal with a somewhat empty venue and decent PPV sales imo. They aren't selling prestige like URL is. They just pop up a couple times a year & try to put together an interesting event. Also consider that if UDUBB or KOTD does a big event, fans automatically assume it's going to be PPV, since they even do PPV with small events.
