Meaningful music = one's subjective opinion of a song with a message.
With that said, while the radio is filled with music that has no lasting effect, the people who sell don't fit that mold. The only true rap superstars with the exception of Wayne, (Kanye, Jay, Em, Drake, and we'll even throw in Macklemore and Kendrick for good measure) all have something to say. It might not be what you want to hear or music for your soul, but they all have a point when they're rapping. His characterization of top guys as being only about their own successes isn't fair to Kanye and assumes that talking about one's personal experiences like Em, Jay and Drake have no value. Note: I'm not saying all this music is good, I'm just talking about it topically.
