The Source/XXL etc Appreciation Thread!

I'm not talking about the current state of these magazines...I'm not even sure if they still exist in print form...But If you are in my age bracket this was how you kept up with hip hop. There was no social media to tell us everything about artists..We had to learn it from The Source, XXL, Blaze, Rap Pages, Murder Dog, etc...

Those were the days. I still have a huge box of Source/XXL's in the basement from 99-06...Honestly surprised i was still copping mags in 06 but i was. the game wasnt 100% on the internet yet at that point.

This thread is to celebrate the best and worst times from all of these publications

Was more into XXL than Source. Always looked forward to the end of the year issue with all of the lists. .... especially the most anticipated albums joint. Their reviews, even tho jaded at times, put me on to a lot of music

True I was more into The Source in the late 90s...by the 2000's Source was kinda booty and XXL started to thicken up... fast forward to a few years ago and i copped an XXL(2011 i think) and that shyt was thin as fukk...during the Aftermath era them shyts looked like 300 pages deep

some more shyt i took flicks of..

wasnt up on Lootpack back then

always wondered what this was

My oldest mag i own from Oct 99. I didnt start actually saving my mags until much later. luckily i kept this one.

its not a rap mag without this in the back

so many memories
