This is complete rubbish. They didn't need Parker him to win IN OKC (where Duncan took over in OT), to clinch vs Portland, nor did they need him tonight to clinch the title. Meanwhile, Manu and Duncan were the catalysts for the comeback. Duncan was going to win the FMVP last year, and would have again this year if Kawhi didn't play so well tonight.

Park is the system player, not Duncan. And this is ignoring his defense which ends the argument.

This post is rubbish.

They didn't need Parker to clinch the title?

So when Khawi was on the bench with 5 fouls and Parker was getting hot, keeping the Heat from having any chance at gaining momentum, what would you call that? :beli: The Heat cut the lead to 15 several times in the 4th getting ready to go on a run and Parker would drain another one. It's no argument. Kobe was the dominant player in 2010. Duncan is NOT the dominant player now and anybody who says so has an agenda.

Robinson was the 2nd leading scorer on that team, and 2nd best player in 1999, we gonna act like 2nd options aren't as important as firsts now?

Duncan was the 2nd leading scorer in the playoffs, and had the highest PER for the Spurs this year :russ:
Robinson put up 17/12/2/1/3 in the finals.

Other than Duncan, the only younger guys on that team were Antonio Daniels, Malik Rose and Gerald King.

So when Khawi was on the bench with 5 fouls and Parker was getting hot, dropping shot after shot, keeping the lead from getting cut down, what would you call that? :beli: It's no argument. Kobe was the dominant player in 2010. Duncan is NOT the dominant player now and anybody who says so has an agenda.

They didn't need him tonight. Just because he was making baskets, doesn't mean it was as important. They were up by like 20 when he got hot. Patty Mills looked better out there for most of the series.

And no one is arguing Kobe was better in '10 than 'Duncan is now. But they were equally important. Kobe fans acting like Duncan was a mere role player is completely disingenuous.

How? :lupe:

You posted a pic from last year of Duncan missing a layup, I have a pic of him hoisting the chip this year.
I post a pic of Kobe holding his ankle and ask you for his playoff numbers this year, and you come back with nothing :lupe:

Out here in my damn drawls
Kobe = 7 finals, Duncan = 6

Kobe = Lost finals MVP to a top 10 player all time, Duncan = Lost it to 2 players not in the top 50 all time

Kobe = a 3 peat

Kobe = Went to finals 3 times in a row, TWICE..

Kobe = won 3 titles in a row, 2 titles in a row... Duncan has NEVER defended his title

Duncan = had 5 years of obscurity even with Parker / Ginobli / Pop .... Kobe = Had 2 to 3 years of obscurity with No Phil / Smush Parker / Kwami brown

Where is the disconnect coming in for you fakkits?

LOL

#factsOnly

Not to mention his level of play in "obscurity". Dude was basically an mvp with a budget team
