Under law and consensus, anyone with visible African descent is considered black, with or without slave ancestry connected to the USA.

Like I said, it'd be cool if you wanted to advocate for scuh a distnction. Don't think it'd be successful considering white people whether they're FOB Russians/Albanians or 30 generations in German-Irish-Italian mutts are considered the same.

And Asian people no matter if you're Korean or Japanese are considered the same.

How would you feel about drawing that distinction yourself by selecting "other" instead of African American on documentation that asks for your ethnicity?

So you think Black immigrants in the USA deserve to have the same affirmative action rights and other privileges as Black Americans...

We are saying that AAs don't deserve the same rights and privileges as former ex-colonial subjects in their own country or the country of their colonizer...

So this is about the crumbs white folks throw under the table for you, no? :francis:

A lot of you are insufferable.

You better change your mentality and start embracing your blackness.

So I guess black immigrants arent experiencing white supremacy in America. :mjgrin:We are living perfectly and wonderful. I guess all the West Indian immigrants in Flatbush,Canarsie,Crown Heights are living very well. And the African immigrants in Harlem and the Bronx are living very well. Or the Liberian immigrants in Staten Island are immune to white supremacy.

You think a white person could tell the difference between an AA and a West Indian just by looking at them? :francis:

This is not just and only a surface level/skin color thing.

And yes - when they look at your first and/or last name, request your birth certificate, identification info, education, your parents info and see where they were raised or their parents were raised + their education and other demographic info -- maybe even an accent.

They know then -- and usually a non-Black American -- let's them know anyway -- just to see if that helps.

Sorry, I'm not American.

I'm a black Brit and we don't need Affirmative Action to excel. Our level of degree attainment (higher education) is currently twice that of white Brits without it. I doubt you can say the same even with your Affirmative Action. :ehh:

No it's about our birthright..

The USA is ours, it belongs to us. We built it.

It's not crumbs, we built the richest country in the world and was invented affirmative action is just a way for us to get in a piece of the pie as a corrective action and it's been diluted by allowing everyone else to get considered.

Affirmative Action
Reparations
Collective group rights and privileges
And eventually quotas for political representation

Is what we are gonna go for and what we gonna get...

The census gives the option African American OR black, not just African American.

The OR indicates people that aren't AA but still have African ancestry.

That's the box I check. I think a couple times I picked other or n/a.

Cacs hear accents and go "a ****** with a accent".

Like cacs don't think Africans live in huts and dance with lions. Even AAs believe this. Cacs think Africa is a country.

You really think cacs hear or see prestige when they see an African name or hear an accent that's not American. :mjlol:
